GOAL: Your goal for this project is to create 3 successful portraits under specific parameters that you will draw at random in class.
You will create 3 kinds of portraits:
Self-Portrait
Portrait of a family member or close friend
Portrait of a complete stranger
In class, each student will draw a color and a color scheme at random. Your challenge is to complete all 3 portraits using the color scheme you selected, with the color you selected as the dominant color.
For example, if you draw the color RED and a COMPLIMENTARY COLOR SCHEME, you must create 3 portraits using the colors RED and GREEN, as these are complimentary colors.
If you draw the color BLUE and a MONOCHROMATIC COLOR SCHEME, you must create 3 portraits using variations of the color BLUE.
If you draw the color ORANGE and an ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME, you must create 3 portraits using the 2 colors next to ORANGE on the color wheel: RED ORANGE, ORANGE, and YELLOW ORANGE.
DUE DATES: Monday, 1/8: Over the weekend, you will shoot 300 images towards your project. You will use class time on Monday to import your images and create a contact sheet.
Label your images lastname_firstname_p5_1, lastname_firstname_p5_2, etc.
Label your contact sheet lastname_firstname_p5_cs and place it in your Project 5 folder on Google Drive by MIDNIGHT on 1/8/18 for a grade.
Tuesday, 1/16: Critique Day! For critique, you must have these things ready and turned in BEFORE CLASS BEGINS:
3 final, successful prints of your 3 portraits printed on your large paper.
Turn in your final PSD files in your Project 5 folder on Google Drive.
Label them lastname_firstname_p5_final_self, lastname_firstname_p5_final_family, and lastname_firstname_p5_final_stranger.
