The picture shows a girl with her face looking up, while swim fish above her. There is some ocean kelp or something like that floating behind her. The little girl is in a dress and she has her eyes closed. There are shadows of fish if you look close enough. The girls head and everything in a small radius of her head is illuminated.

The photo is pleasing to look at. The focal point is the girl and the girls head. The photo is not symmetrical because of the fish swimming around. The largest unused space is the background. The background is just plain blue and black.

The image reminds me of a dream I once had. I was drowning under the ocean. The only difference is that I was stressed because I was drowning in the dream, while the girl in this photo looks at peace. The image is very beautiful. The blacks and blues give me a sense of serenity.

I do like the photo. It is a very nice looking photo. The photo actually looks like a painting but it is not. I do not know if the artist is successful or not. I do not know the meaning of this photo and I would like to know the reason the artist took this photo.

I think this is an image of a girl surrounded by fish and different marine life. This image is using mostly dark colors and pops of off white. The lighting in this is mostly dark except for what looks like a spotlight in the girls head. In this image there are fish, a little girl, and water. I think this little girl is dreaming about living in the ocean surrounded by marine life.

I do think this image is pleasing to look at because it is using lots of dark, cool colors. The rule of thirds is not being used. It isn’t being used because the main subject, the little girl, is in the very center of the frame. A deep depth of field is being used and you can see all the details of the objects in the background. This image is asymmetrical, because of the fish and whatever is behind her.

Some themes in this image are dark colors, and marine life/water. I believe that this image was created from a dream. It looks like the girl has her eyes closed and is dreaming about living in the ocean. This is also a very interesting image. There are many unusual things happening such as a girl standing with fish surrounding her.

I do like this image. I think a lot of creativity and thought went into it. Despite liking it I don’t believe this image is successful. Even though there is a lot going on I can’t understand what is supposed to be happening. I think the photographer could have put more into the image that would make it easier to understand.

The image is a girl underwater looking up with some fish and seaweed behind her. Its very blue because its underwater. The image is very dark except for one area behind the girls head that is very bright giving her a angelic appearance. There is a young girl who may or not be dead due to the fact that her mouth is open and she appears to be floating lifelessly. The light behind her makes her look like she is rising to heaven.

The subject is in the middle of the frame. There is lots of extra space showing the emptiness of the ocean. The depth of field is very large as the entire image is in focus. The image is not pleasing to look at as it is very confusing as to what is going on and the fact that there is a potentially dead little girl in the middle does not help. The image cuts off the. seaweed and whatever is above the girl at the surface. The view of the photographer looks like a fish that is circling around her.

The image reminds me of nightmares where you drown but you wake up before you do. The image looks pretty but it is also creepy. It also reminds me of the time I was at the pool with my friend and his sister who sort of looks like the girl almost drowned before we pulled her out. The girl looks like she accidentally fell into the water. After falling into the water she drowning she is rising up to heaven designated by the light around her.

Overall, I like the photo. It is beautiful in its own weird way. The use of colors and lighting makes it look nice. It also raises a lot of questions and answers almost none of them which makes it nice to look at as the longer you look the more you wonder. I don't know if it is successful or not because I don't know what the artist was attempting to accomplish when the made this image.

The image depicts what seems like a girl sitting under the surface of the water. Around and above her you can see a school of fish and other sea life. The girl has long brown hair that flows around her, and a sun dress. It uses lots of blue to help show that the scene is underwater. It also uses bright colors on the girl for contrast to draw your eyes to her.

It is pleasing to look at because the girl looks up with her eyes closed. This shows that she is calm in her position which ultimately makes the viewer feel calm. The rule of thirds is not being used. You know this because there aren’t natural looking lines in the image that divides it into thirds. The point of view could be that of a fish looking onward on this girl who has invaded its environment.

The theme of the picture is a calming time in the water. There might be a story being told in the picture. To me it seems it shows a girl who may have fallen into the water and is being calmed by the quiet around her. The artist made this picture because she wanted to show that the water isn’t always our enemy. It represents that sometimes, the water can be our friend, and it can support us.

I like the image because I also love the water. It brings me back to times when I have gone swimming and snorkeling with fish. I relate to the girl because I love the ocean and seeing marine life. I too would just sit underwater and appreciate the serenity of it. I think the photograph is successful because it shows how amazing the water and ocean can be.

In this image there is a girl standing in front of a tank in an aquarium. There is a blue color in the background because it is water in a giant tank. There is a lot a fish in the background. There is a very mysterious face in the tank. It reminds me of a penguin with goggles some sort of demon or the club penguin guy. It looks like there is sort sort of big animal coming up to the front of the tank.

This image reminds of something bad because of the color of the image. It is most likely from the point of view of the adult of the kid standing in front of the tank. The image directs your eyes to the large animal in the background. This image does fill up all of the frame. The image is cropped of where a lot of fish would show up in the rest of the fish tank.

In this image there is a lot of animals like fish and some larger animals that cannot be seen. The dark lighting represents some sort of angry or sad mood. I feel like the photographer makes this image in order to represent the dark and sad aspect of life. This image kind of reminds me of when i was little. I saw this movie called Nemo there was a scene like this in which involved a massive shark coming up to all of the fish and eating them. This image is interesting because there are many different aspects of this image.

I don’t like this image because I feel like this image reminds people of sad times and moments when people are sad. But on the other hand, this image can remind people of happy times. But for me this image is the opposite to what other people would think. It just has some sort of sad tone to it. This photograph is successful because people have looked at it. This is why we are looking at it right now. This image had to have been successful in order to be this popular.

The picture is of a little girl that looks like she is under or in water surrounded by fish. The photos colors are dark and blue except around the girl where it is more lighter. The lighting looks like dark shadows. The foreground is a little ground surrounded by water, there are plants directly behind her with fish above. A girl is standing in front of what looks like an aquarium.
The image is pleasing to look at because of how pretty the background is. The rule of thirds isn’t being applied as the girl and the fish aren’t close to the intersecting grid. The image has a deep depth of field as the picture is sharp. The girl is the focal point. The image is asymmetrical as the fish and plants are not identical on each side.
I don’t think there is a story the image is telling. I do think the artist made the image to make a pleasing image to look at. The image doesn’t challenge any beliefs. Not political, ethical, or social. This is a beautiful image because of the background and how the foreground is light up.
I like the photo just because of how nice it looks. If the photos intention was to be pretty it has succeeded. If that wasn’t what it was trying to do it failed. I can't think of what the photos is trying to say. Or if it has a story behind it.

This image depicts a girl who seems to be asleep under water in the ocean. Blue is the main color seen in this image along with a little red and yellow. The light is focused on the little girl. In the image is fish, some sea plant, and the girl. The picture seems to revolve around the girl.

I find the picture pleasing because the girl seems very calm. The point of view seems to be maybe one of a fish or other sea life. The light is drawing the person looking at the photo in to look at the girl. I find the image to be balanced because the top has several fish above then the girl in the light. There is negative space on both sides of the girl.

I find the image confusing because I don’t exactly know what is happening and why she is underwater. The image reminds me of Nemo. This photos questions why she is so calm underwater. I find this image interesting because I want to understand what the girl is doing. I also find this photo beautiful because of the colors and the water.

I like this photo because I find it calming and relaxing to look at. The colors are very calm a little muted to not be too bright. I find this photo successful because it brings up many ideas and questions. This photo is also not too busy and overwhelming. The photo is successful to keep someone’s interest.

This image is of a young girl and it looks like she is underwater in a fish tank like thing. The girls eyes are closed and she is wearing a dress. She is surrounded by fish and seaweed. There is a lot of blue and oceany colors and her dress has red and brownish colors. There looks like there is a spotlight on the girl through the water.

The point of view could be from a fish, from a plant, or of a person through a glass wall. The focal point is the girl and the spotlight is on her. The picture is close to the surface of the water and so the surface draws your eyes down to the girl. The image is partially balanced, it is balanced from the water but the surface of the water is not. There is extra space in the bottom corners. It doesn’t look like anything if cropped out of the photo, just empty water.

The image looks very peaceful but I don’t see a story in it. I think the artist made the image because it looks like the girl could be under water. I think that the girl is in an aquarium and the image is being taken from the other end of the tank. This image doesn’t remind me of a dream but it looks very dreamy. If it was a dream, it looks like a good one. This image is beautiful.

I like this image. As I said, it looks like a good dream. It looks like a paradise and it is peaceful. This image makes me happy. If I dreamt like this every night, I would be a lot happier throughout the day.

In this picture I see a lot of water and a girl in the water wearing a colorful dress. There are fishes in the water and some sea plants. The background is just some seaweeds. I don’t think this picture is took in the deep ocean because the high water pressure will deal a great amount of damage to the girl. A light is projected on the seaweed.

This picture is interesting and pleasing looking. Because the girl is standing in the blue ocean with eyes closed which gives us a relaxing feeling. The angle is parallel to the girl. Everything in this picture serves different purpose such as the fish at the top of the picture gives us the information about where the picture is taken. Also, the light behind the girl lead us to the center of the picture, the girl.

The theme of the picture is silence. There is only a little sound can be heard underwater which is literally a silence place. Secondly, it is calm and peaceful mentally. This picture is noteworthy because it always let people relax. I believe there is a story behind it, may be she is looking for the treasure or she has special ability in water breathing because she owns the power of the sea.

I like this picture a lot because it is beautiful. I like blue oceans because water always represents life. More importantly, blue is my favorite color. This picture is defiantly successful because it reminds me stories about the ocean. This is a beautiful and relaxing picture.

Critical Analysis #2

In this picture you see a girl, in her adolescence, wearing a dress with various patterns and colors. She is surrounded by a blue backdrop and above her you see water with civiler fish. The picture looks like it’s being swallowed with blue colors and drowning in water. You also see a tan blob that is unable to be determined. In the middle of the picture you see a spotlight that makes the little girl shine.
The picture is taken through the eyes of a sea creature. This picture is taken in wide aperture and most likely a slow shutter speed so more light can be shown in the picture. The subject doesn’t fill the frame but the water and blue backdrop makes the picture a whole. A small depth of field is being used so that it forces on more than just the girl. I think the girl is the positive space and the negative space is the blue water.
The idea of the image is that there’s more fish in the sea. I think the girl represents you and the fish represents people. As you can see the water is surrounding her which would be a metaphor for how, we drown in the sea of people. I think the artist shot this picture to represent what the artist was feelings. This picture reminds me of the many trips my family use to take down to corpus and fish.
I find this picture pleasing, because the color contrast is very appealing. I don’t like this photo however, because I think that the fact she’s underwater but not wet quite unexplainable. If I had a backstory to the photo I might like it better. I think the photographer was unsuccessful for a few reasons. One is that he didn’t get to the looker in anyway and second because it’s not a logical pictures.

Critical Analysis #2

For my second critical analysis, I am writing about an image by Cig Harvey. This is an image that depicts a girl standing underneath an ocean, or a body of water, with fish surrounding her. A cool and serene mood is accentuated by a wide range of blue tones from dark to light. The dark shadows create a dramatic scene that contrast against the girl’s pale face and the lightness of the seaweed around her. The girl is separated from the fish by a water barrier.
The focal point of this image is the girl who is shone on by light, and also in the center of the photograph. The halo of white seaweed that surrounds her is framed by the depths of the blue water and silver fish. The bottom of the picture is cropped off, which omits her legs and only allows her dress to be seen. The point of view in this image is from the photographer looking down upon the girl, as he is seemingly floating in the water above her. Extra space is plentiful as the blue-black water engulfs the girl, the subject, and makes her seem small and vulnerable.
I believe that there is a story being told in this image. To me, it seems to be that a small girl is in tune with her surroundings. Even though dangers may be present, she accepts them with open arms. Perhaps the white seaweed around her head symbolizes a halo, to give a sense of her being in touch with a higher power. In my opinion, this is really a beautiful and unique photograph because of what it can mean to me and many others.
Yes, I do like this image. I believe that is has the capability of making others like and believe in it too. The colors, composition, and creativity exhibited here are something to take note of, and I was very impressed. This image was a success to me because it made me think about all of the things that it could mean. When a photograph can truly make you think deeper, and challenges you to look harder, it did its job well.

this image is about a girl dreaming. this image is using really dark and bright colors. the colors makes the lightning more alive. the things that are being used are a girl, fish, and water. the girls is dreaming about being in some type of bubble.

this image is very pleasing to look at because its very relaxing. the photograph is being taken outside the bubble with the little girl inside it. this photo has a pretty good depth of field, you can see what's happening around the bubble. the focal point are both the girls and the fishes. I can't really see any Ines in this photo. this image is balances both symmetrically and asymmetrically. the subject fills in the entire frame, you can see what's happening around the focal point. the positive space is the girl and the negative space is the bubble.

the main theme in this image is fantasy. the story of the little girls is being told. the artist created this image in order to make us wanna dream more. this image reminds me of a dream I hav about being int= the water with a bunch of sharks and fishes. this image is very interesting because of the colors, the subject, and also the theme of this photograph.

I really like this image because the story is told throughout a simple photo. this photograph is sucessfull because the artist wanted to tell a story and he accomplished that very well.

The image is of a girl that appears to be underwater with fish and coral around her. The main color is definitely a dark blue with a hint of beige (the coral) and they light reflecting off it. The lighting is creating an aurora around her, everything else is pretty low-key and dark, its definitely more dark towards the bottom. The composition is easy to look at, it has a very relaxing vibe of tranquility and peace. No, because the girl isn't really on the line on the grid. They took it at a vertical angle and a wide depth of field. Its not a shallow depth of field. The focal point is on the girl mainly but its also on the water and the fish. My eyes are mainly attracted to the fish above the girl. The image is balanced as the main focus and point of intrest (the girl) is right below the middle. The subject doesn't fill the frame, she is only taking up the bottom. The edge of the image is just the ocean water. Yes, everything that isn't the girl, coral, or the fish is a negative. The theme is the ocean. The story of the image looks like the girl has given up and has just let the sea take her over. This image reminded me of the time my uncle made me jump into shark infested waters and made me retrive a plastic bottle, i remember seeing the fish and sharks below me. I don't really think it challenges any beliefs. This image is very beautiful, i think it shows off the fish very well. I like this image because it reminds me of the good times of me and my grandpa fishing. I really thin k this image is a very good one because it shows off all the elements of the fish and the girl.
