For this week's critical analysis, you will navigate to the Elements of Design tutorial on the class website, which can be found HERE, or by hovering over Technical/Tutorials at the top of this page. On the tutorial page, you will note several different examples of artwork(photographs, paintings, sculptures, etc.) for each element of design. Your task is to choose 1 example within each element and write 1 paragraph explaining how the given element is incorporated into the artwork you chose to write about. You will do this for each element of art, making 8 paragraphs total. Your paragraphs must be 4 sentences minimum each. When you are writing, be sure to list the name of the artist whose work you are referencing. Post your writing as a comment to this blog post. Make sure you comment on the correct class period's blog post. Here is an example: SPACE
This is a photograph by an artist named Stephen Shore. This image uses the design element of space because the illusion of space is implied within the 2D images on the billboard itself, but also actual space exists in and around the area surrounding the billboard. The billboard shows a depiction of a mountain range landscape, suggesting a clear foreground, middleground, and background, even though it is enclosed by a rectangular, 2 dimensional frame. There is also infinite space surrounding the billboard, as the clouds, landscape, and mountain range reach off into the distance. Your analyses will be graded on the following criteria:
If you do not finish in class, you must complete this for homework before class on Thursday, 3/28/19. Do not overthink this—just write about what you see. Good luck!

The one that really speaks to me that uses lines is the artwork by Sol Lewitt. The underlying lines make the artwork look like a maze. The black lines on top of the colored lines look like they were re-used. The lines make the artwork look very frantic and fast paced.

1-This image was made by Sol Lewitt, his art work makes me feel dizzy and energetic. He used a lot os lines that go in opposite directions. I chose this one because it is the most exotic one. The photographer did a good job in creating something that would make the people guess what they see.

This image is by Bernd and Hilla Becher. The image uses the design element of line because they are going in all different directions. You can see all different types and get different emotions. They are not curves and it looks more busy and not as calm.

Theses are photographs by Bernd and Hilla Becher. It uses the line element of design. Each house is different. They all have unique lines going in different directions. These lines make me feel tense because they are not even or symmetrical.

The photograph is made by an artist named Sol Lewitt. It uses the design element of lines by having many different shaped and colored lines in eight different squares, or sections. It uses lines in the shape of many different things, such as, triangles, squiggles, and more. The background behind each and in between every image is just grey, this has good contrast with the very colorful lines inside the specific boxed areas.

The picture for line by Sol Lewitt makes me feel energetic. The image shows colorful lines going in all sorts of directions. Due to the lines being mostly diagonal i find it to be upbeat. The artwork shows how diagonal lines are interpreted to make someone feel or imagine.

Line is used in many images. It is used in the series of painting by Sol Lewitt. I like it, because it is very creative and it has many different patterns. I like that each painting has a different style of lines. These images of lines looks like it would be some sort of album cover.
