Successful:
-Did the project with plenty of time to spare
-The camera wasn’t bad
-The characters moved fine
-Tri-pod didn’t mess up

Unsuccessful:
-The shadow in the back round
-The end; reflection
-Slow shutter speed
-Some of photos are blurry
-Camera battery died;wasted time

I have many ideas planned for my project that I am actually very excited about. Over the weekend I bought a batch of brownies because I want to make a stopmotion of a cook that bakes brownies. In the beginning of this video, all of the ingredients will be placed out so that the viewer will get the opportunity to see all of the items that will be placed in the batch, throughout the story, the cook will have the major problem because an egg will accidently break. In the end, the batch of brownies will be carefully placed on a plate and they will be beautifully decorated.

Successful:
-Use of many different props made of clay.
-Animating different parts of the clay characters.
-Followed storyboard.
-Successfully created claymation
-Used a set created from just a wooden background, a table, and clay.

Unsuccessful:
-Camera shake
-Exposure changes
-Askew images
-Things moving slightly faster than needed
Blurry images from a slow shutter speed

This past weekend I started to shoot my stop motion video. I did a lot of prep work and I wouldn’t change a single thing about how I shot it. I built a snow set and had a green screen in the background. I also used a light so that the lighting would be consistent throughout the shooting. All of this worked very well. The object I animated was a toy train, and it was not hard to animate. I even got a moving shot that, at least in the preview, was very smooth. My set was large enough to get many angles, without making it too repetitive. Another factor that will make my work easier is the compositing I’m going to do on after effects. This will make it easier because I don’t have to worry about the background in a lot of shots.

This weekend while I was taking my photos I had trouble with the exposure because at one point the frames started becoming darker and I didn’t follow my story board at all. I also had problems with ending the soon to be stop-motion in an awkward place and most of the pictures have a blurred hand because my friend was moving it at the time and I did multiple different ideas like take pictures of my friend’s lizard whenever he moved but he didn’t move enough.

However, I also finally found out when the continuous shooting setting was, making it easier to take pictures while my friend was moving and I got a good focus on the subject. I also think I had a good light source along with a background that wasn’t very busy and it was clean.

This weekend I did 5 things successfully, and they are the following:

-I stuck with the same story throughout the shoot.
-Very nice colors and creative plot.
-I was patient throughout the shoot.
-Most of my images were focused.
-I designed some signs that helped a lot with the understanding of the story.

This weekend I also did 5 things unsuccessfully:

-My quality of light wasn’t the very best or consistent.
-I used some studio lights that included flash.
-I took pictures of unnecessary content.
-Set up my tripod at a weird angle.
-Didn’t choose the best location for this shoot.

Unsuccessful:
1. There was motion blur in some of the shots towards the end. This weekend I will go and reshoot the blurry images.
2. I had trouble pressing the shutter down, because I was using the app on my phone. Next time I will have someone help me press the shutter.
3. I think I moved too much between some of the images, so it may seem choppy. Next time I can take images more frequently to make it smooth.
4. I could have used a deeper depth of field to make the details in the back of the image sharper.
5. I could have set my tripod up at a different height to get more of myself in the frame.

Successful:
1. I kept the tripod in a consistent place and didn’t move the camera.
2. I shot the photos in a time of day when the lighting didn’t change that much.
3. I got all of my images done to complete the video in one day.
4. I followed my storyboard planning.
5. I properly exposed all of my images.

Successful:
1. Good focus and sharp images
2. Good color scheme
3. Good quality of light
4. Got more the minimum amount of the pictures due
5. Kept my tripod the same place and there was no camera shake

Unsuccessful:
1. Had trouble setting up the tripod. I’ll meet with Mrs.Cooper McCauley to see if she can teach me how to work the tripod or get a different type of tripod and see if that one works better.
2. On some images you can see my phone since I was using my phone to press the shutter. I’ll try to crop and edit the images to get rid of my phone.
3. Did this project last minute. I’ll manage my time better to have plenty of time to get everything ready and shoot the images
4. I forgot to press the shutter while I was painting when I was painting the clouds so the images look a little choppy. Remember to press the shutter after every little move I make
5. My first few pictures were taken as portraits and the others were taken as landscapes. Be consistent and either shoot all of them as portraits or landscapes

Successful things this weekend:
1.I took a variety of angles for my shots.
2.I successfully told a story that makes sense thats has a beginning, ,middle, and end.
3.I tried multiple scenarios or things to see what worked best.
4.I had props available if needed and was well prepared since I was not close to my house when i took my images.
5.I had fun and became more comfortable creating stop motion.

Unsuccessful things this weekend:
1.I could have worked on creating a better exposure.
2.Try to stick to my story board and follow a plan.
3.Try to take more focused images.
4.I could add more in the images like props.
5.I could pick a better location so I could reshoot.

successful things did this weekend:

1.I got good characters
2.I successfully found where to shoot
3.I decided on a storyline
4.My tripod was good balanced
5.I had fun taking the pictures and moving the objects around the set

Unsuccessful things i did this weekend:

1.The pictures werent good quality
2.The apeature wasent the best
3. I could do better at moving my objects around
4.My tripod broke but then i fixed it
5.My story line wasent too interesting

Successes

1.) Chose a good time of day where the lighting stayed the same
2.) Had a story in the stopmotion
3.) For having to put together last minute the story was not as bad as I pictured
4.) My exposure,ISO,shutter speed and light were all balanced
5.) I was able to use the tripod well

Not Successful

1.)Wasn’t as smooth as I wish I was when capturing the motion of the person because the character moved too much without me capturing it
2.) Should choose a better story board
3.) Should have planned a plan B since my first plan didn’t work with the weather
4.) Need to adjust the part that connects the camera to the tripod so it is not as wobbly
5.) Should’ve put the tripod at a better angle so the whole frame of the playground would fit

Zach Burgos
1/22/2018 11:48:40 am

Successful:
1.having everything set up so that it is easier to take the photos
2. Followed the storyboard
3. Had good lighting because it was a room with good light
4. Made some progress but didn’t finish
5. The exposure settings were correct

Unsuccessful:
1. Wasn’t able to completely finish do to very poor scheduling, but i could have finished
2. Took long time finding where to shoot the video
3. Kept moving the “floor” set in the shooting
4. Had to restart twice do to the camera kept moving and decided to use a remote
5. It took me a long time to find what to build for the solution/creation
