The image is of an unhappy girl. The colors used are black and white. The lighting is studio set-up because it looks like she is inside. The girl is the only thing included in the image. The girl is standing with a sad look on her face.

The picture is not overexposed or underexposed because it look just right. The whole girl is in focus. The color is not correct because it is in black and white. There is no pixelation in the image. The image is not pleasing to look at because it seems like the girl is staring into your soul.

The rule of thirds is not being used because the girl is pretty centered in the image. The photographer took the photo in front of the girl. A shallow depth of field is being used in the image. There is extra space surrounded the girl. The theme of the image is sadness.

I don't think there is a story being told inn the image. This image reminds me of maybe a kid who helps out her dad with a farm they own. This image doesn't question or challenge beliefs or assumptions. The image is interesting because you don't know why the girl is sad. I don't like it because it makes me feel sad.

This image is of a young girl ages 14-16? She has a lot of freckles around her body. She looks pissed, kinda like she was forced to take the photo. She is wearing overalls and an undershirt. The lighting is kinda dark, mainly because it is a black and white image. There is a blank background to emphasize the girl. Nothing is really happening in the image.

The image is not overexposed, it is the right amount of lighting for a black and white photo. The image is focused around the girl's face. The color correlation is not correct for the overalls are probably blue. There is no pixelation in the photo that I can see. This photo is kinda weird to look at, because the girl is literally swarming her.

The rule of thirds affect is being used, as the girl is kinda to the right of the viewers sight. The point of view of this photo is an bird's eye point of view? I can't really tell. This photo is framed as there is black lines surrounding the photo, directing your eyes towards the girl. The girl does not take up the whole photo, she only takes up some of the right side.

There could be a story behind this image of why she is so serious, but you can't really tell due to lack of detail. This image sort of reminds me of my sister because my sister has some freckles, but not a lot. The image would look better if it wasn't in black and white. Personally, I don't really like this photo because there isn't a lot of details to make this photo interesting. This photograph could be successful in like a grandmother's house or at a family gathering.

The image is of a girl who looks between the age of 13-16. She's standing behind a white background and the colors in the photo are black and white. The lighting is bright and seems to look like a studio set up. The only subject in focus is the girl, who is wearing overalls and is covered in freckles. The girl is in a still position for this portrait.

The image is perfectly exposed and is in full focus. The color white seems to be a really muted yellow and has a muted undertone. No pixelation or grain is seen because everything in the photo is in perfect focus.

The photo is pleasing to look at because the artist was trying to capture something that the girl conveyed. The subject of focus is in the center of the photo, so rule of thirds isn't being used. The photographer took this photo from a head on angle. The viewer is looking at the girl as if they are there with her. The photo isn't framed unless you look at the black border to the photos edges. The image is balanced and the subject of focus only fills the center of the photo. The surrounding area of the girl is empty and no lines are seen to direct us the subject.

I don't think that there is a theme or story behind this photo because it's really simple. Since the photo is simple maybe the photographer was trying to capture that being young can be a simple thing. Maybe the photographer was trying to convey to the viewer that there is beauty in everything or event the simplest people. The artist of the photo might just be wanting to capture the girl and the emotion she might be conveying. The image doesn't reming me of anything but the photo isn't really interesting. Looking at this photo doesn't make me feel anything or think about anything in particular. The photo is plain an putting the photo in black and white made it kind of boring. Maybe the artist did that to make his theme concrete and important. The photo is beautiful just not noteworthy or memorable. The I do like the simpleness of the photo because it could make some people feel calm.

As expected from our later lessons in class, this is another portrait. I don't know whether this is a self portrait or not, though. There is a young lady standing in front of a white background. This image was made in black and white. She's just stating there with what can be considered a scowl, somewhat frowning. I believe the reason why the picture's colors are they way they are, is because the photographer's goal was probably to emphasize the girl's notable features. In this case, her freckles play a huge role.

The image seems to be correctly exposed and well-focused. I can't see any notable pixelation. It has adequate resolution, and the color balance is great. All whites look white and blacks are also emphasized. Overall, this picture seems amazing, and I actually like it.
I like this picture not only because its pleasing to look at, but because I have a belief that people's portrait are mostly wonderful because they are made to highlight one's most beautiful features. The rule of thirds is being used because the girl stands in the middle of the picture. She is clearly the focus of the picture, and this white background allows you eyes to go directly to her.

More than a story, this picture is a statement for freckled people. There is lot of people who have freckles that don't like them because they're insecure, but in this case freckles become a great factor to the picture's success. In my pinion, the freckles are probably the most notable feature in the girl, not to mention that I love and secretly wish to have freckles. So, moral of the story; your insecurities can be beautiful.

The image is a black-and-white portrait of a woman with overalls, and a light-colored garment underneath. The woman has a very serious expression on her face and she is staring directly at the camera. She has a large quantity of freckles that spread ,mainly throughout her arms, and along her face. Her hair is down, and and somewhat wavy, and her eyes seem to be of light color. The background is all white. The lighting seems to be set up in a studio.
The image is in focus, and the white background helps bring some contrast to the subject, making you pay attention to the small details found in her. The photo is of good resolution, and the exposure seems to be perfect.
The image is asymmetrical, because in this photo, the subject is standing a bit to the right of the center. Making the image black and white also causes the details to spring out more, due to the level of contrast. The subject fills most of the frame, and all the extra space is white. The camera was placed a little beneath eye-level. The image also seems to be following the rule of thirds by placing the subject off to the third on the right side.
The image seems to represent the life of a hard-working young woman in a less-populated area. Even though she may be living in a rural area, she seems to care about typical beauty, by the looks of her wavy hair. She also may be showing the world that freckles are not a thing to be ashamed of, they are a part of what makes a person uniquely beautiful.
I like the image because it portrays something that isnt necessarily seemed as a positive thing, freckles, as something that shouldn't be ashamed of. The fact that it is black-and-white makes me like the image even more. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that the subject isn't centered... but that's ok. Still like the photo a lot.

The photo depicts a young girl covered in freckles standing with a relaxed and unamused face. Her hair seems light tousled in curls and she stands with denim overalls on. She is standing in front of a neutral white background. This is probably done purposefully by the photographer to draw the attention to the subject. This technique also emphasizes how the camera captured all the details from the freckles covering her body to the texture of the denim.

The photograph seems to have a deep depth of field, but it is hard to tell if the background is blurry since it is a solid neutral color. However, the subject is very much in focus. The photograph seems adequately exposed and the color is correct. The highlights and shadows of the photo also seem to pop even more due the photo being black and white. The lighting seems very controlled so it can be assumed that this photo was taken in a studio or with some lighting controlling the exposure.

Given the details in the photograph, it makes the viewer come up with story or background information for the girl. From her expression to her clothing, multiple conclusions could be drawn. She could be a young girl from a rural area. She could also be a factory worker who isn't satisfied with her life. The simplicity of the image and focus on the subject forces you to come up with your own interpretation of the image.

The way the photograph makes you think is what makes it enjoyable to me. If a photograph portrays a story or induces thinking, it is successful. I think that this photo is successful in this way. Also, I admire the clarity and focus the photographer has captured in the detail of her subject. It brings out the beauty and the simplicity in a normal looking girl. Her expression doesn't portray a specific emotion to me, but is just her in her natural state. I think that in this way, the photographer manages to show the most stripped down version (emotionally) of a person.

This image is of a freckled-girl staring into a camera. She's wearing a pair of overalls and has a swimsuit underneath. The colors are black and white. The lighting is studio set-up. She looks quite unhappy and focused on the camera.

The image is just right in the lighting department. The image is in focus and has a shallow depth of field. The coloring isn't correct because it's in black and white and you can tell that the overalls aren't black. The image isn't really pleasing to look at because she looks extremely unhappy. The rule of thirds isn't being used in this photo because she's almost in the center of the photo.

The point of view of this photo is that the photographer is standing in front of her. The focal point is the girl. The image is white-balanced because the tones are neutral. The subject doesn't fill the frame. However, the photograph is framed by a black outline.

The story being told in this image is that the girl might be unhappy in her own skin. This reminds me of the book "To Kill a Mockingbird." She reminds me of Scout because of her overalls. I don't necessarily like this image because she looks so dissatisfied with herself. The photographer is successful because they created a photograph that told a story.

This image is of a girl wearing overalls. The image is black and white. I believe this picture is using studio lighting. The girl seems to have a very serious facial expression and she has a lot of freckles. There is no action in the image.

I think the exposure of this image is just right. The image is in focus. The color is incorrect. This is because the image is in black and white so you can't see anything in its true color. There is no pixelation in the image. There is adequate resolution.

The image is pleasing to look at. The rule of thirds is not being used. The photographer took this image at eye level. The photo is framed by a black frame and the focal point is the girl. The image is balanced and the subject doesn't fill the frame.

The theme of this image unhappiness. I think the girl looks stressed/ unhappy with her current situation. The artist probably made this image because he/she thinks the girl is aesthetically pleasing. This image reminds me of Bailey because of the freckles. All in all, the image is quite interesting.

This image is portrait of a young woman, probably around the age of 13. She is frowning and looks mad and she also has many freckles. The image is black and white which adds to the theme of the picture. The lighting is light because the background is white. The image is solely of the girl.

The image is perfectly exposed. The image is in complete focus. We know the focal point of the image is the girl because its the only object within the image. The colors do look correct because the picture is black and white. There is no pixilation.

This is pleasing to look at because of the balance between the shades of the blacks and whites. The rule of thirds is being used. The depth of field is deep because everything is in focus. And the focal point is the girl. There are no lines to direct your eye, however the dark colors of the girls' clothes against the white background made her stand out.

The story behind the image is that the girl is unhappy. She is mad at something and wants to show that through this picture. This image reminds me of the movies with the girl orphanages where all of the girls are miserable. This image is beautiful because of the simplicity of it. This image is successful because it shows what the girl is feeling through color and balance.

This image is of a teenage girl in overalls in front of a white background. The young woman is looking directly into the camera, and because of her outfit and hairstyle, the photo gives off an older vibe (even though it may not be.) This image is in black and white, the colors (black and white) being correct. Because of the solid white background, the image's lighting is pretty bright. There aren't many dark shadows with the exception of the shadows her hair casts. Despite the fact that the background is so bright, the subject of the image appears perfectly exposed.

The image is in focus, and a deep depth of field is being used. The resolution is adequate, and there is no visible pixelation. In all, the photo is very high quality and clear. This picture is pleasing to look at because of how simple it is. the rule of thirds is being used--the young girl is slightly to the right of the center of the image. The point of view is from directly in front of the girl. This image could very well be a self-portrait, or just taken by somebody straight n front of the girl.

The lines of the straps of the girl's overalls help direct the eye to her solemn face. The image crops off the remainder of the white background and below the torso area of the girl. This image is balanced, but it is not symmetrical. No parts of the image are identical. The subject does not fill the image, there is a large portion of the photo that is taken up by the white background. The subject and positive space is clearly the young woman. The negative space is the solid white display in the background.

I believe the idea behind this image is the simplicity of childhood. There is nothing too extravagant or eventful happening in this photo. The young girl is just simply herself and nothing else. I believe this photo is beautiful because of how simple it is. it's very pleasing to the eye, because nothing unpleasing is provided. I believe the photographer took this to show the basic nature in a child and during childhood. This image reminds me of young children that are just living their simplistic lives before they reach the adult world. I like this image a lot, and I believe the photographer was successful.

This image is of a girl looking at the photographer taking the photo. The girl is wearing overalls and has her hair down in curls. The young teen has lots of freckles. The colors being used is a black and white image. The girl in this image is standing upright. The girl is not doing anything but just standing straight for the camera.

The image is not under-exposed. This image is just right. The image is focused on the girl. There is not background. The background is just a simple white. Yes, the whites look white.

The image is pleasing to look at. although nothing is happening in this image, from her face you can tell there is a story behind it all. The point of you is directly in front of her. The positive space in this image is the background because it is full of white. The negative space is the girl.

The story being told in this image is that she is a very serious person. with her overalls it seems that she has to work hard for the things that she needs and wants. She seems to be a serious and hard working girl because of the way she is standing and the facial expression. The artist probably had the intension to make people realize that some people do have to work hard for their things. This image is interesting to look at. With its great quality, this image is a very successful image.

The photograph is a black and white image of a girl, approximately thirteen. The lighting is bright and seems to be artificial and studio set up. The image is of girl, and cuts off around her hips/torso. The photograph is properly exposed and in focus. I don't believe it is properly balanced as the girl takes up 2/3 of the photograph but the 1/3 of empty space isn't evenly distributed/balanced.

The rule of thirds isn't in effect as the girl is taking up two thirds of the photograph, the right and the center, leaving the photograph unbalanced with the left third empty. The point of view is that of somebody looking directly at the girl, they are in front of her. The photograph is not balanced, as previously stated. The image appears to be framed by some black bars, perhaps from a film roll. The focal point of the of the photograph is obviously the girl, and ore specifically her freckles.

The image portrays a girl in her overalls, she is wearing a thin sports bra or bandeau underneath. The image is in black and white, I believe this was done to accentuate the girl's freckles. Her hair appears to be of two different colors. I'm guessing red and blonde. She doesn't appear to be smiling or showing any emotion really. I don't feel the photograph really conveys any strong feelings or ideas.

I do not like this photograph because I don't get a story. I've been looking and observing and I cannot seem to find a story. This makes the photo uninteresting, and in my opinion unsuccessful. It appears to be a portrait and simply that. I mean you get the physical characteristics of the girl but you really don't learn anything about 'her'.

This image shows a teenage girl who has a lot of freckles in overalls. She is starring straight at us and looks very angry or irritated. The picture is made in white and black and is very dark looking. The girl is the only object in the image and the background is perfectly white. I believe that this image was set up in a studio as a portrait.

The photograph is perfectly exposed and the light and dark colors contrast well. The image is focused perfectly and only on the girl because of the non detailed background. The colors in the image look exactly as they should and seem to bring out the girls face and eyes. There is no pixelation in the image, it is perfectly smooth. There is also adequate resolution in the image.

This photograph's composition is pleasing to look at, but the girl's facial expression isn't. The rule of thirds is being used because the main parts of the girl's face (nose, mouth and lips) are in the right intersection. The photographer took the image facing the girl perfectly straight, in other words, she is right in front of the girl. The focal point is obviously the girl because she is the only subject in the image, but I also think the main point of the girl is her face because of her expression. The whole background of the image is extra space, but I believe it makes us focus more on how the girl is feeling.

I believe the theme of this image is showing how you really feel. Many teenagers are forced to remain happy around our friends and never have time to show how we are actually feeling. This image shows us that teenagers need to become more open to showing our feelings. The photograph also proves that it makes us uncomfortable to see someone portray their real feelings towards the world. This image definitely challenges my beliefs and forces me to be more open about my feelings. This image is both noteworthy and beautiful because it makes me feel more than any other picture I've seen. Personally, I love this image because it stretches humans and forces them to feel more than they're comfortable with. Although I like the photograph so much, other people might dislike the thoughts behind it causing it to become unpopular.

This photograph taken by Sandra Bennett is a portrait of a twelve year old girl. She is covered in freckles, and has her hair down with her bangs pinned back. She shows a straight, unhappy face depicting her mood in the photograph. She is wearing a pair of overalls with what looks like to be a bathing suit top under. The photograph cuts right below her waist and doesn't show her hands which are probably rested on top of each other.

The photograph is in black and white which indicates that it is an old photograph probably in the 80s. The background is white and it emphasizes her freckles and natural features. The photograph is correctly exposed and is in focus, which makes it very clear that the girl is the focal point of the photograph. The perimeter of her body is sharpened and it looks like she has been drawn into the photograph. The white background also brings her out as well.

This photograph is pleasing to look at but her facial expression isn't. A facial expression tells you so much about the person and the photograph. You can tell a lot of thought and there probably was a long process to bring this photograph together. If she were smiling, people who would view the photograph would be completely different than if they were to view it the way it is photographed now. I personally like this photograph and I believe that there is a lot of meaning behind it.

The young girl's facial expression shows that she is angry about something, it is all shown in her eyes. The way she has her eyebrows arched down and the way her eyes are squinting shows that is she is very unhappy and furious about something. It might be something that is small or foolish and will be gotten over in the next hour or two, or she is angry and furious about something that will haunt her childhood forever. You never know what she is thinking but you can definitely tell a lot just by simply looking at her face.

The photograph presents a girl who is asked to stand behind a white screen. The photographer is taking portraits of people. The objects in the image are a white screen and a girl that appears to be in the south and looks like the daughter of a farmer.

The image is not underexposed or overexposed, but some parts around the arm are undrexposed to the point that you can't see anything. The color seems to be correct because it's a portrait, and it's a stranger so it helps conceal the identity of that person

The idea of this photograph is a photographer taking portraits of strangers. I think the story behind the image is that the photographer was thinking of an idea for his images, so he was looking around and he saw a girl walking around so he asked her if he could take a picture of her.

I like the image because it looks very nice and it has a good sense of mystery of who that girl she is, and why did she say yes. The colors also express the emotions of the girl as being mixed between excited and confused why its her. I think the image is successful.
