Complete in class. 4 paragraphs minimum, 5 sentences minimum per paragraph.

In addition to answering the descriptive questions on your "How To See" handout, consider how the image was made. Describe some of the tools the artist might have used in order to create this image. Think about what we learned in class last week.

What are some things the artist might be trying to communicate through this image?

This image is of a young girl and her/a dog or wolf. Both her and the dog are on top of clouds high above an average city. There isn't a very wide variety of colors, but the colors present are moderately bright. The lighting appears to be that of the natural sky. The image appears to be slightly underexposed--the city beneath and even the silhouette of the girl and dog are a little bit dark. The image had adequate resolution and there is no visible pixelation. The image also seems to be color correct.

The image is very pleasing to look at because of how it is composited. It looks extremely realistic for something completely unrealistic. The rule of thirds is very clearly being used, as the subject (the girl and the dog/wolf) are moved up and to the left of the center of the image. the point of view is a bird's eye view. The camera is pointing down towards the subjects of the image. The focal points are the young girl and the dog, and they are framed by the clues surrounding them.

The lines present in this image are the lines that form the curves of the clouds, and they draw your eyes to what is on top of the clouds. The image looks balanced, but it is also very asymmetrical. The subjects of the image fill a very small portion of the frame. The subjects can be considered the positive space while the negative space is the abundant white of the clouds and the city below. The edge of this photo crops off the remainder of the clouds, sky, and the remainder of the city below the clouds.

I believe this photo symbolizes the vivacious imagination that many young children possess. Many kids can imagine the most wild scenarios, even including being practically on top of the world like the child in this image. The dog next to the girl also enforces the idea of a childhood imagination scenario, many children also having their pats tag along when they're playing. This image definitely reminds me of when I was younger and could do anything with my imagination. I do not believe this image challenges any particular social norms. I do believe this picture is beautiful because of how cleanly and convincingly it is composited.

This photograph is of a woman overlooking the world. She is on top of clouds with her dog walking next to her. The clouds are white, while the city below has greenery with the city lights gleaming. The image looks underexposed due to the city being darker than the clouds. The lighting looks natural because of the photos being taken outside.
The composition is pleasing to look as because it's something that you would not usually see. The point of view is birds-eye because the woman and he dog are below the camera. The focal points of the photograph are the dog, the woman, and the city. The woman and the dog only cover a portion of the image due to the city and clouds being being shown. On the top of the image, it is framed by clouds. On the side and bottom of the image, it is framed by the darkness of the city.
The idea of this image is to explore the world of imagination. You obviously wouldn't find a woman or a dog on top of clouds, but because of the photographer's imagination, she was able to create this piece of artwork. I believe that her intention was to show this generation that it is OK to remember your childhood and dreams. I also believe that this challenges the social "norm" because the majority of today's society are afraid of acting being considered immature. This photograph is noteworthy because it is making a statement.
I like this image because it is interesting. It makes you think and wonder why the photographer created this image. The image is of something that you would never see in reality. It's fictional, and I find an interest in that. This photograph is successful because it tells a story on not to follow the "norm."

The image is of a girl sitting with a dog on a cloud in the sky. The girl is grasping onto the cloud looking down on the city. The colors being used in the image are greens and light browns involved with the landscape of the city below, and white involved with the clouds. The lighting in the image looks like natural sunlight. The objects included in the image are the women and the dog. The woman is dressed in a jacket and a hat, so there was probably cold weather at the time. A city is also included in the image with what looks like cars surrounding most of it. The woman is looking over the cloud while she looks a little timid. The dog is walking towards her while he sniffs the surface of the cloud.

The image looks a little underexposed in the front. The image is in focus because you can see the main characters, the woman and the dog, clearly. The color in the image looks correct. There is no pixelation in the photo because nothing looks blurry and grainy, but clear. The composition is pleasing to look at because everything included in the landscape below the clouds are beautiful. The rule of thirds may be used because the woman and the dog are a little off center.

The photographer took the photo from above the woman and the dog. The focal points are the woman and the dog. They are framed by the cloud that is surrounding them. The subjects do not fill the frame because you can see the rest of the clouds and the sky and the city below. The clouds are at the edge of the image because you can see that some of them are being cropped off. The theme of the image is to soar out of your comfort zone. You should want to fly out of your the bubble where your surrounded by comfort.

In the image, the woman looks a little scared that she is high up on a cloud, but maybe she did it to experience the beautiful landscape below her. With some risks comes rewards. The artist made this image to symbolize that people should take more risks in their lives and stop wanting to stay in their comfort zone because great things can come from risks. The image reminds me of my aunt and her dog because the girl has blonde hair like my aunt, and the dog looks very similar to her dog. The image is interesting because it can be interpreted many different ways. I like this photograph because the landscape is very pleasing to me.

This photo is of a man and his dog walking on the sky with the land below them. The characters seem as though they are jumping from cloud to cloud playing with each other. The colors within the photo are brown and white which contrast well together. They are used to show the comparison from the life on the ground with the life in the sky. The lighting comes from the sun and a studio set up is not used.

The image is perfectly exposed. The image is in focus and the human and dogs are the focal point of the photo. The colors are correct and contrast well together. There is no pixilation within the photo. There is adequate resolution.

This photo is very pleasing to look at because of the flow of the clouds on the background of the ground. The rule of third is being used because the dog and human are in the top intersection of lines. The angle used is the birds eye view. The image is not framed however the clouds are all around the edge of the photo. The image is asymmetrical because of the inconsistency of the clouds and the lack of subjects on both sides.

The ideas of this image is that playing up in the clouds is easer and more fun than playing gin the hustle and bustle in the real and busy world. We understand from this photo that all this man wants is to be peaceful and play with his dog with the worlds distractions. This photo reminds me of looking from an airplane down on the ground and seeing everything so small and unimportant. This image is noteworthy because of the beauty and peacefulness is shows us.

This Image is a young woman and dog in the sky. It is using photography method, surreal. It is using light colors and natural lighting from the view of an airplane. There is also a city underneath the clouds. The author made the clouds look like snow so the dog and woman are playing in it.

The image is not over/underexposed because the natural lighting. The image is indeed in focus. The coloring is correct. There is no pixelation in this photo. It is very pleasing to look at. Rule of thirds is indeed being used in this image.

This photo was taken from a first-person point of view. The main focal point is the dog and woman in the sky. Te image is not balanced because there is not an equal amount of clouds. The subject does not fill the frame. The edge of the image is the city beneath the clouds.

If there is a story being told, I would have never known about it. This artist made this image to show curiosity. This image reminds me of a dream. This image asks me about why this image was made. Overall this is a very pleasing image to look at.

The image depicts a dog, and a woman(?), I believe. Regardless of their gender, this person seems to be staring down at the ground from the safety of a cloud. The dog is also on the clouds, literally. The image has bright colors, because its from bird's eye view on top of the clouds. The background is mostly either the ground, or the baby blue sky. The darkest shapes in the picture happen to be the person and the dog, due to the fact that they weren't really on the cloud. This must be because of photoshop function.

The image seems to be in focus, although I can't see the face of the subject because of his or her small size. The clouds do seem in focus. The picture is correctly exposed, which helps the whites look white. Also, the picture exposes great resolution. I find it pleasing to look at because of the scenery itself; the clouds relax me.

The rule of thirds is being used, as shown by the dog and the person themselves. The subjects of the picture are both in the top left corner, successfully applying the rule of thirds. My only guess is that the photographer took the picture of the clouds from a plane. The picture was made with a bird's eye view above the clouds, so I'm a little skeptical about it. I do know that this picture uses our latest learnt technique; compositing.

Overall, I like the picture and I find it oddly pleasing to look at. As mentioned before, it is probably because of the sky scenery. I can't tell whether this picture is telling a story, but I can find some sort of meaning. Something like, "Don't be afraid to fly!" or something of the sort. I enjoyed writing this critical analysis.

This Is a photograph of the world. This photograph is in the sky. It is partly cloudy in this photo. In this photo there is a dog and a human. the man in on his hands and knees.

the man and dog are in the upper left corner on a cloud. This is a bird's eye view. The photographer used rule of thirds in this photo. This is a surreal photograph. This photo is correctly exposed.

This photograph represents a story of a man getting saved by a dog. By looking at this photo you can tell that the man has never meet this dog before. The man looks like he's in pain and the dog is coming to help him. The clouds represent that the man is in a point where he is confused and lost in his life. The dog is like a compass or a map.

The dog is guiding the man on to the right path in life. I like this photo. This photo has a deep story behind it. after looking at this photo for a while it starts to make me feel kind of sad. This photo reminds me on my old dog who passed away last year.

The photo above is of boy and his dog playing on the clouds in the sky. The boy and his dog are above what seems to be a town with lots of greenery. The colors in the photo are obviously white from the clouds and the earth colors of the world below. The lighting is soft and the photo looks like it was taken during golden hour. There looks to be houses on the ground and the dog and boy look like they're playing in the snow.

The image seems to be perfectly exposed and the lighting is warm. The image is in focus, the colors are correct, the whites are white. There is no pixelation and the resolution is adequate.

The photo is pleasing to look at because the image is simple. The viewer can just see a boy and his dog having a good time, which can bring happiness to the viewer. Rule of thirds is being used because the boy and his dog are on the left side of the photo while nothing, besides the cloud is in the center of the photo. The point of view is birds eye and the angle is from above. Nothing is framing the subject of focus. The light in the photo is what's directing the viewer to look at the boy and his dog. The image is balanced and the frame is full. The positive space is the area where the boy and dog are.

The theme of the image could be imagination and the story being told is probably what the boy thinks. It's his imagination. The artist made this image to display the mind of a child and to show how thoughtful children are. The image is noteworthy and very interesting. The message behind the photo is striking and the idea being displayed is interesting as well. Overall, I like the image and the story being told.

The image is of a woman on a cloud looking at the landscape. There are a lot of warm tones in the image and white from the clouds. The image is using natural light. You can see a city below and a bunch of mountains. You can also see a dog.

The image is underexposed. The image is also in focus. The colors in the image are balanced. There is no pixelation in the image. There is adequate resolution and a deep depth of field.

The composition of the picture is pleasing to look at. The rule of thirds is not being used and the image was taken from an upper angle. There isn't really a focal point in the picture and the image is unbalanced. The subject does not fill the frame. At the edge of the image there is just more land.

The theme of the image is loneliness. I think the man in the image is an outsider that doesn't really feel connected to the word. I think the artist made this image because he/she feels disconnected from the Earth as well. The image doesn't really remind me of any memories because I have never really felt like an outsider. I think the image is beautiful and the photoshop is amazing.

This image shows a birds eye view of a city with clouds blocking our view. On one of the clouds shows a man squatting down and looking at the city with his dog. One of the most relevant colors the image is white, because the clouds take up so much of the photograph. The other colors are mostly darker ones that we see on the ground such as dark yellow and green. This photograph has plenty of brighter lights because of the clouds, but the darkness of the city below balances it out.

This image is perfectly exposed because of the nice natural lighting. The city below is more in focus than the man and his dog, however the image is focused. The colors in this photograph are also perfectly correct. The image does have adequate resolution because everything looks clear. Also, there isn't any pixelation.

The rule of thirds is being used in this photograph because the man is in the top left side of the image. As I said before, the image below is in focus, but I believe that the focal point is the man looking down. The man is not framed because the only lines in the image are the the outer rim of the clouds. The image is not symmetrical because the focal point is not in the center. The focal point also doesn't fill the image because it is so small, which creates extra space.

The theme of this image is curiosity. The man on the clouds is so curious about what is below him and the people below are most likely curious of what is above them. This image is definitely noteworthy because it creates an alternate universe of us to imagine. I personally love this image because it creates a dream like scene. I believe it is also creating this dream for others which makes it very successful.

The image portrays a woman with a beanie and jacket on kneeling in a cloud waiting for her dog to come to her. The dog seems to be walking towards her. She is on top of clouds, along with her dog, and there are breaks in the clouds that shows towns/suburbs on the surface. The image uses relatively dark colors, with the exception of the white clouds. The image(s) seem to be taken in an outdoor environment.
The image was probably made by taking a photograph of clouds and the land below from a helicopter/plane/drone, and compositing a separate image of a woman kneeling with her dog together.
The image of the clouds and the surface is perfectly exposed, while the one of the woman and her dog seem to be a bit underexposed. The image is in focus and of adequate resolution. The color of the image doesn't seem to be its original culture, because the image seems to take on a cooler vibe in some areas. The whites do not look white. The image is really pleasing to look at because it is not overwhelming in any sense. The woman and dog serve as a small detail, not as an obstruction that might take attention off the background. It also doesn't feature a city or anything on the surface that might draw our attention away from the woman and the dog. The woman is placed at near the top of the 1st vertical "line of third", making the image pleasing to look at. Both images are taken from a bird's eye point of view to give the viewer a sensation of height. The background image was taken with a deep depth of field. The picture of the woman and her dog seems to be taken with a slow shutter speed to make the dog's movement of legs more blurry, smooth, and dream-like. There are lines at the edges of the clouds, near the woman is, to draw our attention towards her and the dog. The image is asymmetrical. The subject does not fill the whole space, instead, the clouds and the surface fill most of the space, to again, give us a sense of height and "dreaminess".
This image seems to express the idea that anything is possible within dreams and imagination. It tells a story of a woman happily playing with her dog over the clouds, with no other cares in the world. She looks like she has a great sense of freedom and tranquility. The author may even besaying that freedom and tranquility are what makes some situations seem like a dream. The artist made this image to express how the simplicity and tranquility of situations can make someone feel at peace. I felt that sensation of peace and satisfaction when I looked at this image. It feels like only in a place, like the sky or a dream, can we escape the pressures and stress that society puts on us and find ourselves in a state of tranquility. I found this to be a really neat image.
I really liked this composite because it was successful in taking some uneasiness off me and making me feel good. The photographer was successful in creating that satisfying, dreamy sensation.

In this image there is a dog and a girl standing on top of clouds. This image is definitely photoshopped. This image was taken of a dog and a girl in a separate photograph and the artist combined the girl and the dog together with clouds. The clouds was the background and the artist painted the dog and the girl in the photograph in photoshop. The artist did this very neatly; the artist did a great job.

In this image there are a lot of dark colors and with a pop of white, which are the clouds. There are so shadows but the clouds are very bright. In this image the dog seems to be running to the owner, which the owner of the dog looks homeless.

The image is no overexposed. The image is focused on the clouds, the dog and girl. The colors in this image are correct. The white's looking very white.

This image is pleasing to look at because the image is very surreal and different. The rule of thirds is being used in the image. The point of view of this image is a birds eye view. The negative space is the background, which is the land and city behind. Also, the girl and dog is a negative space. The positive space are the clouds.

The idea of this image was to make it not real and different. I believe that the story being told is that the homeless had been looking everywhere for her and used the clouds as a metaphor as she could not find the dog. Then when she found the dog, the girl got very excited and so did the dog. This image remind me with my relationship with my dog and i. I would do anything to find my dog if i lost her.

This image is very interesting to look at, because this image is different and unique. this image is also interesting because there are so many thoughts that you think about when you see this image. I do like this image, because this image reminds me of some memories. This image is successful because what makes a image successful is its quality and uniqueness. this image does have those aspects.

The image is about a man living in the clouds above the world who is observing human life above with his dog. The colors the image uses are white to resemble the color of clouds, and a variety of ground colors such as green, brown, gray, and blue. The objects that appear in the image are a man, clouds, a dog, and a landscape beneath the clouds. It appears that the man is watching the earth.

The image is neither underexposed or overexposed. The image is in focus on the man. The color that the photograph uses seem to be correct. The white seems appropriate for the clouds, and the various mixtures of landscape colors seem to be correct from a bird's eye view. The image has no pixelation that I can see, but the man and the dog seem to look like a cartoon.

I think that the man is supposed to resemble god or some ancient religious figure that watches over the world with his spiritual animal the dog. This photograph reminds me of the movie up because the image takes place in the clouds where it seems to be quite. I think the image is very nice, because it resembles peace and tranquility. It also gives the meaning that there are certain places where you can find peace.

I like this image very much because it seems peaceful. I think that the photograph is successful because it could be a picture that can be used in a variety of places in someone's home, office, bedroom, and hallway. you could walk by it in the hallway and look at it to find some sort of peace at mind.

The following photograph is a birds-eye view of a scattered, cloudy sky and an over view of a city probably somewhere in the U.S. In the left top corner, on the clouds, there is a blonde girl dressed in dark colored clothing, a yellow scarf, and a dark hat. Next to her is a wandering dog that is dark colored with no clear details of the dog. The odd thing about the photograph is the fact that the girl and dog on the clouds are animated and are not real people but a cartoon.

The image is clear, and is all in focus. The clouds in the photograph lead you to the two characters that are on the cloud. The image is a little underexposed, and the colors of the photograph is very grayish, kind of depressing, and really sets the mood of the viewer of the photograph. There is also no pixilation shown in the photograph and it is all in good quality.

The photograph is taken of birds-eye view and is looking down from the sky. It is taken as an angle and is not centered which causes the girl and dog to be in the top left corner. The lines of the clouds cause the viewers eyes to be directed to the characters. The whole image is filled with clouds starting from the top of the image and slowly fades until there are no clouds on the bottom of the image.

I believe when one looks at the photograph, they can automatically think of many stories or meanings that would go behind the story. The most elaborate meaning that probably came to many people's minds was that these characters are lose in a virtual world and are trying to find their ways around the surreal world they live in. The dog looks like he is wandering around while the girl is kneeling looking for something. I believe a lot of people can relate to this photograph as they are lost in the world they live in. These characters seem to be so lost and out of place that they are a virtual reality in this world.

This photograph is pleasing to look at only because of the meaning behind it. The photograph is also very successful because of the detail used and the effort that is put into this photograph. Overall I do like this photograph and I like the way it is made.
