Period 4 -- Critical Analysis #10

1/27/2020

Semester 1 Personal Reflection

Today you will be writing about your own work that you have made in this class.

Take some time to think about the different projects you have completed so far in class. You will pick one project that you responded to, and one project that you did not respond to. Then, you will write about your experience. Be sure to include this information in your writing:
  • Which project did you respond to most? Explain why. For example, if you enjoyed the self-portrait project most, explain which parts of the project resonated with you. Did this project change your way of thinking? Did it help you become a better artist? Did you learn a new skill completing this project?
  • Which project did you least enjoy or respond to? Explain why. What did you find challenging about this project?
Next, pick your favorite image that you have created this year, and write at least 1 paragraph analyzing the image. Describe specifics, form, and content. Finally, evaluate the image. Be sure to describe which project you shot the image for.

Next, pick your least favorite image that you have created this year, and write at least 1 paragraph analyzing the image. Describe specifics, form, and content. Finally, evaluate the image.
Be sure to describe which project you shot the image for.

For your final paragraph, take some time to write about your Dream project. Explain how your final images pertain to the theme word of DREAM. Explain how your images are cohesive.

Your analyses must be a minimum of 5 paragraphs, with 5 sentences minimum per paragraph. Be sure to post your analysis as a comment to the correct class period blog post. Your analyses are due by MIDNIGHT on Wednesday, 1/29/2020.

Digital art

The project that I responded the most was the “Dream” project because, it was really fun to make and go around finding random stuff in thrift shops or random places at home, I learned a new skill this project, That skill was compositing, compositing is when you merge two images together, creating a single image with the components of both images, that was pretty fun to make because my grandpa and my friends just stood there and did nothing while I took pictures of them.

The project that I least enjoyed out of all of them was the name game, because I spent so much time trying to find the letters of my name, and forgot i still had to take pictures of my last name, and also i was just starting to take pictures and i didn’t knew anything about photography or about how to take pictures with the camera, So I had to go on Youtube to search up a video on how to take pictures and how to manage the exposure on my camera, this project took so much time to make and I just didn’t like it as much as some other projects.

My favorite image out of all the images I took was the one of a shoe standing on a rock, this image was supposed to be for the portrait project, I really enjoyed taking these pictures because I got to take pictures of what I like to collect and wear, I just thought this was a really good picture, compared to the other ones I took at the beginning of the year, This image has others that are similar but like the bird's eye, or the bugs eye, they are all different.

The picture that I don't really like is a picture of a Kendrick Lamar vinyl, that was supposed to represent the letter-O on my name and my last name, I just felt this image was really really bad because it's so dark you couldn’t even tell what it is, also i was starting to take pictures and I wasn't good at it, That picture was for the project “Name Game” and overall I really did not like that project at all because it took too much time to make and it wasn’t as fun as the others.

For this last paragraph I will state the connection between the two parts for the project “Dream”.
The project dream was divided into two parts and we were supposed to take pictures of what is a dream to us, I ended up taking pictures of my brother, a friend and my grandpa, The final product ended up being really nice, but the connection that the two parts have is that, when I dream on my sleep, I always dream of someone I know and something they do, for example, my friend Nacho plays the guitar so I took pictures of him and his guitar, or my little brother is weird so I took pictures of him with weird stuff, and finally my grandpa likes to watch tv of his room late at night, so I ended up taking pictures of him watching TV late at night in his room.
That what these two parts for the project dream have in common.

The project I enjoyed the most was the dream project. I was able to do whatever I wanted in this project. It wasn’t a specific thing that we had to take photos of, it could be anything. And while I was taking photos I was able to practice shooting images. This was probably the most fun, enjoyable, and creative project that I’ve done in this class.

The project didn’t like was project 3. To be specific project 3b. I didn’t like how this project was assigned over Thanksgiving break. I couldn’t do it because I had to take care of my grandmother. Thanksgiving was a tough time in my family, my grandfather passed away so I had to leave before break even started. I had no time to do the project. I think that we shouldn't have a project to do over a holiday in general. When I came back, I was bogged down with turning in missing assignments and finishing this project.

My favorite image is of my dog going hunting and fishing in the dream project. When I think of dreams, I think of random things happening. That's how I was able to create the two photos. In one of the two photos my dog has a toy shotgun and a toy duck that my dogs play with. I told my dog to sit and stay still so I can take the photo. I did the same thing for the second photo, except I use a fishing rod and a tackle box.

My least favorite photo is the Darth vader in the alter-ego project. It was so hard trying to get the helmet in the camera’s view while I had it on. It was hard to focus the photo also. That took me a long time to do. It was also cloudy outside, so that made matters worse.

My dream project photos pertaining to the word dream, by having things that you can’t see in the real world. Some of my images a good dreams, some bad, and some just random. But all of the photos can relate to the word dream by how they look. The themes and ideas that are in the photos are different to anyone. The photos were based on some things you can find in a dream.

One project that I really responded to was the self-portrait project. The parts of the project that really resonated with me was the alter ego part because it was a way to show myself in a different light than what I usually used to. This project I feel made me more creative in my photography and made me less nervous to take pictures in a public setting. It also really helped me understand how to pull the focus on the camera and made me less camera shy. I think it also really taught me about lighting and how much to let into my camera unlike the projects before.

The project that I really didn’t enjoy or resonate with was the name game. This was at the beginning of the year where I didn’t really understand how the camera worked or operated. I didn’t really understand how to pull the focus, ISO, shutter speed, etc. I also did procrastinate about this project in the beginning (which is on me) and shot in the dark at night at times and didn’t know much about using a camera in a dark light setting. I also thought the project was just plain boring.

My favorite picture that I created this year is one of me at the airport watching the planes at the gates. This was a part of the self-portrait project and I just really like how it came out. The lighting was really good and and there weren’t any other people around me so I was the only one in the picture. I want to be a pilot for an airline in the future so this was a way to express myself in a way that I hadn’t tried before. But the main reason why I really like this image is because there was so much going on in the background and I was able to capture it with myself as the main subject.

My least favorite pictures would have to be all the name game pictures. Again, this was when I was starting out in using a more professional than my phone. I really don’t like how the lighting is in a lot of the pictures because a lot of them were shot at night. The ISO and shutter speed was off on a lot of them. While some are better than others, I just don’t like how all of them came out.

For the DREAM project, I tried a lot of different themes. I have led lights and colorful christmas lights in my room because I like the vibe they give off. For the dreamy parts I changed the colors on the led lights to a purple color. For a scarier, nightmare theme I turned of the christmas lights and changed the led lights to red. I tried to link the images together because I personally had a dream a while back where it started out as a dreamy paradise and then it turned into a nightmare later in the dream. Granted I was in 2nd grade when I had that dream but I still remember it years later.

My favorite and most responsive project for me was the dream project as it allowed me to translate what I saw in the real world to what I saw in my dreams and how I interpreted those dreams. It really changed how I view photography and the content I chose when taking photographs. The project I least responded to was the composition project as it limited my creative freedom when taking photographs and didn’t allow me to switch subjects while taking photographs. It challenged me logically as it forced me to think about how to take different pictures of the same object and make them visually pleasing and different.

My favorite image this year came out of the dream project which featured a sunset and a view of a city on the horizon as shot from a hill. It looks small in scale but that’s the beauty of it as it represents our own small worlds in which we escape to. I made the sky blue and yellow because you don't usually see those colors mix and I wanted to make it seem more fantastical. The image is pleasing to look at and does not use any rule of thirds or anything like that. It is a straight horizon photo and at first look means nothing. But if one has a creative mind one can figure out that it means alot and means something to everyone: rich, poor, dumb, and smart alike. I loved the image because I had to think about what angle to use while taking the image and what ISO to use since I was filming at night with very little natural light but the lights in the distance.

My least favorite image I shot this year was of myself actually. The image was of me lying down in the grass next to a wall with yellow stripes running across it. It was grainy, ill placed, and low-quality. I hate this image and if I had a do over on this project I would do it in a heartbeat. The image represented something that was meaningless to me which was the human form itself but alas was a complete failure. I shot this for the self portrait project we did.

DREAM ANALYSIS
In the Dream project we recently did I shot a collection of photos that represented my own dreams in the real world. The images together tie my dreams in the real world to my dreams in the dream world and to what happens in my daily life. If you look at the images the baseball bat and baseball display case represents my dream to be a collegiate level baseball player and how I spend much of my time training to become one. The vans represent how when I get home, I can relax, do homework, and hangout with friends and how those shoes are the shoes I wear around my house to do things when I get home. The blue and yellow horizon represents how I how I look to the horizon for what I will become. The sunset is actually seen from a hill that I frequently go to. The picture of my friend represents the relationship I have had with them and how it has shaped me as a person today. The house is actually built on the same hill I took the horizon on and is my dream home along with being a representation of a dream I had about an evil house.
These images as you can see have meaning in my real world and my dreams in the real world and represent my daily life. The dreams as stated above have relevance in my dream world and represent the different dreams I've had in the last year. The baseball bats are viewed from a bug's eye view and I chose this because I had a dream one time about being an ant and everything being so small. The horizon with its blue, pink, and yellow colours represent a dream I had where I visited the same hill I frequently go to but in a different universe where the color of the sun was different. The vans are also viewed from a bug’s eye view which represents the same dream about being a bug. The house represents a dream I had about an evil house that attacked me.
As you can see the images I took connect through being a representation of my daily life while also representing my dreams in the real world as well as my dreams in the dream world. The images connect those different types of dreams and how they manifest themselves in my everyday life.

I would say the project that I responded to the most was the self portrait project. I had more fun shooting it because I had an exuse to do fun and stupid stuff. I think it helped me come an artist because I learned the challenges of taking self portraits. I did learn a new skill in completing this project, I learned how to find the 10 second timer on my camera.

The project that I enjoyed the least was the family and stranger project because we had to take photos over break, and no one wants their photo to be taken so it took forever and was pretty annoying.

My favorite image that I’ve created this year is the final picture 01 for the family project. The image is of my dad using a jack on our landrover. The image is cool to look at and the image was taken from underneath the other side of the car. There's a middle depth of field and the negative space is on the jack and the positive space is from the other side of the car and the light coming in from the garage.

My least favorite image is the final picture 02 for rule of thirds. The image is of a cow jaw bone sitting on the ledge of my backyard patio column. The image doesn’t look very good, it’s too yellow, there’s something off with the focus, and the texture is distracting. Also the background either blown out or way too dark. The image was taken a little off to the left of the bone and there's a shallow depth of field.

My dream photos are all connected because they're all things either I had a dream about or they’re something you’d only see in a dream. Another thing that I guess you could say connects most of the photos together is that most of them have ducks in the picture. The picture that I had the most fun taking was of the wire guy flying in my lego race car.

My favorite project that I have done this year is definitely the first one, which was the name game project. I think that I enjoyed this one the most because I have always liked geometry. Finding objects that resembled the letters of my name was not only a fun challenge but also was something that I thought looked cool. Also, I have come to find that I enjoy taking pictures of objects much more than I do taking pictures of people, which includes self-portraits. I think that is one of the main reasons why I liked the first project so much.

I just haven’t really enjoyed the other 3 projects we have done so far, so I’m not too sure which one I least responded to. If I had to choose one, it would probably be Project 3B. I was fine with the family aspect of the project, as I got to spend some time with family while completing the homework. However, I just did not enjoy the second part of the project. I am just not really a fan of portraits, and I just don’t like taking pictures of people. I don’t think I really gained anything from it, as it didn’t develop my skills of speaking with strangers. I already know how to talk to them, it just feels weird directing someone you don’t know to do this and do that. If I was on the other end, I know that I wouldn’t feel comfortable or would want to do it so I don’t feel comfortable doing the action itself.

I think that my favorite picture from the first semester either has to be the picture of the deer antler that looks like an “E” or the garden tool that looks like an “E”. Both of these are from the name game project, and I think that even though it was the first one, I had some of my highest quality pictures taken then. But if I had to choose between the two, I think I would have to choose the garden tool one. It has a nice sharp focus with a shallow depth of field, and you can tell that there is a garden behind it, as there is a green blur in the background. The picture is taken at an angle, and I think it looks really cool.

I think that my least favorite picture is probably from the photos I took during my dream project. I wasn’t really too sure about what topic to relate all of my images to, but the pictures that I wanted to create of dreams I had would have been too complicated and I would not have been able to get what I wanted. I think it would have to be the picture that I took of me standing in daily dress and then having other copies of me in dress uniform. I think it was good in terms of the idea behind the picture, but I didn’t realize that the focus on the version of me in daily dress was off until I began editing so it didn’t come out as great as I had wanted it to. For that reason, I think it is my least favorite.

The main idea behind all of my photos for the dream project was mainly scenarios that were unrealistic. In many of my photos, multiple versions of myself exist in the same place, which isn’t possible. I have had many dreams like this in the past, and so that is the main idea behind my photos. There are a few others, like the one with the mirror, that do not include multiple versions of myself, however, they still fit this idea of unrealistic scenarios. I am trapped in the mirror and then I am interacting with people on the other side, and I have had dreams like this too so that is why I included this image. There is the photo with the orange juice carton, which is essentially a dream where you feel as if you were a ghost, that you can pass through objects, and in that image you see the person’s arm going through the carton as they attempt to grab it. All of these images cover unrealistic scenarios, and that is why they are all cohesive.

The project I responded to the most was the dream project. I enjoyed this one the most because I got to walk around and look at nature. I got to search for the most beautiful parts of my neighborhood and take pictures of them and that experience was peaceful. I also had fun because I got to adventure into the parts of the neighborhood that I haven’t been before like the woods and the park. I had to actually go into the trees and bushes to find the place I was looking for and that exploration was really fun.

The park that I went to was really nice and had ponds and trees everywhere which was perfect for my photos and it was nice being there. Exploring these places changed my way of thinking about taking photos. It made me want to start going out and adventure around places for my future photos. Originally I didn’t really care to take pictures cause there wasn’t anything to take pictures of but going out was fun. I think this project made me a better artist.

The project I least enjoyed was project 3 self-portrait. I didn’t really think about my alter ego and I didn’t try to be creative. I simply put some stuff together and it wasn’t fun. I think if I tried to take an actual picture of my alter ego and tried to make the project fun it wouldn’t have been so bad. I should have gone out like I did in the dream project.

My favorite picture took place in the forest area that I had to adventure into. The photo has 2 rows of trees going forward and there were sort of trails that led forward as well. This looks like a path that you would follow in a dream to adventure forward in the dream. It also reminded me of something you would see in movies or drawings. In the photo, the trees are crooked and some have no leaves and some have many leaves that are green. There are leaves everywhere on the ground and rocks scattered. The photo is dark but the sun shines at the very end of the pathway which reminds me of the right and wrong path you read about in a book or watch in a movie.

I don’t have a least favorite image but I have least favorite images. These would be from project 1. In these images, you can’t really see the background except for one and all the rest fill up the frame. The one that I least like is a picture of a chair in my backyard. There is rock ground and green bushes in behind the chair. The chair is grey and black and there is a wooden bucket looking thing by the bushes. I don’t like this image cause I put no effort in to take it and I didn’t care how it came out. This image was just meant to be an N for my name and has no meaning.

The first project that we did, name game, is the project that I’ve least responded to so far along the year. I didn’t really enjoy looking for my name on random things. It was annoying trying to find the same letters in different places because many related to each other and weren’t as unique. The letter “a” is repeated a lot in my name so it was annoying trying to find different objects. It was also annoying because I couldn’t take pictures inside of my house because of the yellow lighting but I couldn’t go outside because it was too dark to try to shoot with natural lighting. It was challenging trying to find the different objects but also getting the light right while switching the ISO and shutter speed.
The project I most enjoyed however, was the alter-ego project. It was tough at first trying to think of what my alter-ego was like but once I got an idea, it was fun to create the images. This project taught me patience and also trying to get the shot right by myself. No one helped me or stood where I was supposed to stand so trying to figure out the stance and posture was tough for me to do. Especially because the camera was behind me and I was trying to keep it off the shot. I learned many skills from this project and I also didn’t dread doing it, like I did with the first one. The DREAM project was also one of my top ones because it taught me that artists many times do unconscious things and portray things in a sense that have meaning after you look long enough. For example, as I did my DREAM project, I realized why I was taking the images I was and the meaning behind them. I didn’t necessarily start with that reasoning. I started my project the way I did because I thought it’d be cool. However, as I reflect upon the images I created, I realize that I took those images because of my family and what they’ve been through.
My favorite image is either one of my alter-ego ones or one of the DREAM project. I like dark-looking images so creating these really intrigued me. If I really had to choose, I’d choose the alter-ego image just because there are more colors and it is more clear to see everything. There are different textures within the image, including the clothes I’m wearing, my hair, and the mirror. In the image, I’m looking at myself in the mirror trying to apply makeup, which I don’t usually do. I’m applying mascara and red lipstick. I learned a lot from this project. I had to know where I had to stand, how close or how far I had to stand away from the mirror, how high to move my arm, how to hold the camera controller without it being seen, etc.
I have two least favorite images, which are the S and I on the name game project. Both images look grainy and not clear. They don’t have a clear frame either, which really bothers me. The “i” doesn’t really look like anything and doesn’t take the proper shape of the letter. The “s” also looks off. The colors of both images don’t really contrast all the others. In my opinion, both golden letters are not pleasing to look at because of the quality of the image and the color of the shape alone. I couldn’t find any other objects that could look like the letters in my name, therefore I used those.
For my DREAM project, I decided to go with the supernatural side of dreaming and
sleeping. When talking about dreaming or sleeping, people think of clouds or surreal powers. However, I wanted to go with a more creepy aspect of it. As children, we are afraid of the dark and sleeping alone in our rooms. This is exactly the idea that this project gave me. Ever since I can remember, my sister has said that she sees and hears certain things. One of these things is a man dressed all in black, wearing a hat. He stands at the edge of her bed and watches her sleep, she says. I thought that she was making it up or exaggerating, until I saw him for myself. It happened twice, actually. One time in Mexico and one time here in San Antonio. The very first time I saw him I was already asleep when I felt a presence near me. I clearly felt how someone was next to me and I could hear the fabric rubbing against his body. I opened my eyes and there he was. He was in the corner of my bed, near my door. He was a tall, dark shadow and I could not see his face. Maybe it was a reflection and it was probably not a real thing. However, as I recently spent time with my family, I learned that my sister and I were not the only ones who saw him. My aunt, who lives in Mexico, also saw him. More in the light, and this time he even touched her, or she felt that he did. He grabbed her feet, which is why I have a picture of legs and hands. My aunt also said that the ghost, or spirit, stared at her but she could not see his face clearly. It was only black. After she asked him what he wanted, he left and she lit up a prayer candle, called a “cirio&

Analysis 10:

My favorite project that we have completed so far was probably the portion of the Relational Portraiture when we took photos of people we weren’t familiar with. I think that it helped to push me out of my comfort zone when taking photos. I really enjoyed talking to and meeting different people whom I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise. This project also taught me to be adaptable when taking photos, especially since I was in an environment with factors I couldn’t necessarily control, such as the lighting or shadows. I think this is an important skill to have when taking photos.
The project that resonated with me the least was probably the self portrait portion of project 3. While any form of practicing my photography skills helps to improve my self, I would definitely say that I procrastinated and ended up frustrated with the project as a whole. Since I waited until way too late in the day to get a start on the project, the lighting wasn’t ideal in the location that I wanted to shoot, so I turned the ISO up high, resulting in a grainy, lower quality image. While I liked finding ways to express myself through photography, and I enjoyed the challenge of the self portrait itself, I feel that I could have put more work into planning, which would have produced a better representation of my actual “authentic self”. Overall, I don’t think it was the project itself that was not as enjoyable to me, but rather the lack of time management and planning on my part.
If I had to choose my favorite photo that I took this year, it would have to be one from the Dream project. In it, my younger sister is reaching up toward a tree. I think that the photo is pretty well exposed and that I did a fairly good job in composing it. I like the way the shadows of the tree branches make a shadow across her face. I enjoyed doing this project; I think that it gave me the most creative freedom.
A photo that I have taken this year that I feel I could have improved upon is probably the letter“N” from the Name Game project. I used the legs of a desk in my room to look like the “N”. I think that I could have picked something else to form the shape of the letter. The photo doesn’t really look straight to me, and there’s random stuff in the background. I think if I were to redo this, I would maybe try to use a shallower depth of field to focus only on the actual letter.
For my Dream project, I had my younger sister as the subject in all of the photos. Most of my dreams are calm, and I tried to convey the tranquility of them through the photos. I took them in an area behind my house where there aren’t many signs of other people. In some of the photos, I put a piece of fabric over the lens to sort give it the dreamier effect that I wanted, and I think the streaks of color make it look cool as well. The subject in all of the photos looks happy, or at the very least at peace, which is something I think of when I hear the word “dream”.

I responded to the self portrait project the most because it was really fun to photograph myself. I learned how to self time the camera and put the camera on a tripod. The part that most resonated with me was when I was in a sweatshirt and my uniform skirt. Espesically when I would jump and spin because that is my personality, very enthusiastic. I would also have photos of me looking sad to symbolize that not all the time am I happy, I can be sad too. It helped me to become a better artist because I was able to show myself through the many photos in the project.

The project that I least enjoyed was the name game project. It was really hard trying to find the letters of my name around my house. One big fact that contributed as to why I didn’t like this project was the fact that it was my first project so I wasn’t really skilled in photography at the time. Since my name has two E’s I had to take pictures of lots of E’s which were really hard to find. I had to make my E’s for more than half of the project.

My favorite photo is from the composition project. The point of the project was to photograph the same object all around in different places. I picked my stuffed animal octopus and put him all around my backyard. In this photo I put him the little bird bath we have in my backyard right next to my family room. At the time that I put the octopus in the bowl my dog came by and looked through the window. I was able to capture my dog and the octopus in the same photo.

My least photo is from the authentic self project. The point of the project was to photograph what you thought your personality was in the many photos of the project. In this photo I was posing next to the entry to my living room. I had a t-shirt and shorts on. I was looking all depressed and leaning against the entry. What I didn’t like about this was how grainy it looked. The ISO was very high because the lighting was weird in the photograph. I also didn’t like how depressed I was in the photograph so I didn’t like it.

My dream photos pertain to the word dream in that they all have to do with my dreams. My main dreams are in my room or house. Whether they were nightmares or just dreams they happened in my house. For dreams part one I did mostly Christmas photos because Christmas is my favorite holiday and around Christmas I dream all about it. In dreams part two I did mostly objects in my room which symbolizes the important things in my life and glimpses of parts of my room which is in my dreams. The images are all cohesive in that they all have to do with my main dreams.

The project that I responded to the most was the first one. The first project was where we had to make our name with pieces of nature. This project I did my last name because i tried my best and my photo came out really good. My images were overall very put together and if there was anything wrong with them it was something very small.

The project that I responded to the least is the one where we had to take a bug's eye view and a birds eye view of random things. This project was my least successful because all of my photos came out blurry and just bad. I think that this project didn’t go so well because i didn’t put all of my effort. I just put everything together and wished for the best.

The best image that I i shot so far is the one that has composition in it. I took a picture of myself playing foosball with myself. It turned out exactly how I imagined it. I enjoy observing this photo because it is such good quality. I love how i was able to edit the image to the point were I would be in two places at once.

The worst image that I created so far this year is a birds eye view. That is the worst one in my opinion because I think that I could have gone up farther. The hpto was lao really blurry and the lighting was not good at all. This photo was bad because I didn’t put all my effort into it as all my other images.

My last project I took a lot of photos that have to do with dreaming. I would say that most of my photos represent this idea. I took a photo on a bug's eye view of my brother because sometimes you see things bigger and stronger in a dream, then in real life. I also took a picture of two Tomas playing against each other because sometimes in a dream your mind plays games with you, and tells you that your playing against yourself.

One of my favorite projects this year was the alter ego / self portrait. I liked this project because I got to have fun with this powdered chalk which made it a little more interesting. I did a couple different things for that project and I used editing to change the color and to make the image feel a little different. I did one where I did a backflip and that took a while but it was really fun and added a kind of interesting factor to the image. I want to do mare stuff with chalk/flares because I love these types of images.

The other project I really liked was when we took photos of other people because I got to take pictures of people I didn't know and it kinda got me out of my comfort zone. The pictures I got I really liked and it was actually pretty fun to take other people's photos. I took the images while I was in colorado for thanksgiving break so the nice vibe I got while I was there and I had fun with this project.

One of my favorite images was from the dream project we had and it was one with a dandelion and I changed the hue and made it look different and that kind of reminded me of some toxic or poisonous plant something like that. I feel like it was something from a disney movie like the apple from snow white. Also the one image i did with the glass ball kind of made it dream like and i turned up the brightness and made it sort of grayscale in the ball to look weird and different like it was some special globe. I really liked those two images.

One of my least favorite images would either be one of the strangers photos or the name game. I like the images but I'm just not that proud of them unlike the others. I like doing just images with no actual editing but i like to do stuff that is more different and uses more effects. Those images weren't really some of my favorites but it was still fun to do those but I think I could have made them better.

Well the first week I didn't know they had to be all related but the images I took kind of had to do with not kindof realistic or something like that or supernatural. Like the first week images were kinda like a levitating vibe. The second weekend I tried to do like a non realistic vibe that's what i was trying to go for with those images. It's kinda a very broad way of relating to each other but it's kinda hard to make sense of what i was trying to do with the images.

I enjoyed the compositing project the most because it made me learn about how to make stuff float. I love the idea of ghosts in our world, it has always been a part of my life. The compositing project really brought out the spooky side in me, and I love it. It definitely made me a better artist, I love the photoshop aspects of the project itself. It was just a comfortable project for me.

I didn’t respond to the self-portrait project very well. I have very low self-esteem and having to take pictures of myself just didn’t help. I’ve struggled with self-love for most of my life, and I feel that this particular project just made me feel even worse about myself and how I look.

My favorite image this year was the compositing project images, my most favorite was one where I was floating in the air. I had to work really hard to make that image, and I accidentally moved the camera, so I had to try to get the best possible fit for the images. It took me so so long to get the colors and lighting just right. This image is super personal to me because I had to actually sit there, and run back and forth trying to get the most non-blurry image possible.

My least favorite image is the one where we had to do the letters of our name. It didn’t come out very well and was totally blurry. I hated the project, and I felt that I didn’t do very well because I didn’t know enough about photography. If I was to go back now, I would have probably done better because I know how to work my camera.

My Dream project wasn’t exactly the best project I did, but I worked extremely hard on it and came out with a few of my most favorite images by far. The Dream project for me was about my favorite side of me; the sweet, kind, fairy-like imaginary person that I try to be. Although I can be quite harsh sometimes, I don’t mean to. As hard as I try, I can’t seem to make friends and all of my dreams are about that sweet side of me trying to come out and say hello. All of my images have butterflies, soft colors, and a little bit of sparkle in them.
