This image looks like it was taken with an overexposed setting or on a very cloudy day. The colors are very soft and or white. They do not show any bright colors in this image whatsoever. The only colors in this image that appear to be different than the others are the navy blue in the girl’s skirt. This makes the subject, being the girl, stand out to viewers. Our eyes are drawn not only to the girl but also to the girl’s situation.

Lissy Elle Laricchia used the process of compositing to create this image. She took a normal image of a girl and made it dream like. When we view this image we can already tell that it is out of the ordinary and different from our world. No one in our world can levitate and or be carried by a flying boat. This then points to the question of why?

The artist clearly has something to say with this image. She wants her audience to feel something from this image. Personally, when I see this image I think about peter pan. The story of peter pan reminds me a lot about this image because the boat looks just like captain hooks. Whether or not it was the author’s intention, this image brings back many memories of my childhood that involves this story.

I think that this is a very good image and I really like it. The artist has done something different that we don’t see very often. It shows that something different can be beautiful, just like this image. She took two things that we would never really consider to be used together in this way and used it. A girl being carried by boat is not something you see every day. Her ideas for this image change the way that I think about photography.

I used to think photography was just the usage of a camera to capture the world around us. However, it is a lot more than. Lissy Elle Laricchia uses the world around us and her talent to tell a story with the images. She can create a very different story that no one would suspect from it. It inspires me to work with my images to tell stories as well.

This image depicts a girl with the illusion of her being attached to the sails of a ship and being carried away. Her apparel resembles that of a student with the skirt and stockings, which may imply that she’s young. There’s a beach in the background and some kind of tall vegetation on either side of the girl. Natural light is being used in this very cloudy photograph. The face of the girl is covered by her hair, which creates the idea of her hair flowing in the wind.

This image is pleasing to look at because the subject matter is a unique composition of two unrelated things into something else that’s different. Ships on water and humans on land are combined to create some kind of flying conglomeration. The image does not follow the rule of thirds as the subject is in this middle. There’s a relatively deep depth of field seeing as most of the image is in focus. The prominent lines are the horizon of the ocean, the tall grass, the sand lines, and the shirt that the girl is wearing. The point of view would be an ordinary frontal angle, as if a bystander were witnessing this moment in time.

I don’t think there’s an underlying theme in this image that’s trying to address some kind of global problem or conflict. I don’t think it’s a self portrait, and since there’s no author’s note, there’s not much telling about the individual herself. The main purpose of the photograph solely seems to capture the whimsical fantasies we may encounter while we’re dreaming. It’s trying to form into a visual piece the quaint and unconventional life we live while we’re asleep. The photo is intended to intrigue the audience and have them appreciate the work that the author did to make such an astonishing subject seamlessly fit into an everyday life background.

I like this picture because when I see it, I can feel what’s going on around me if I were that person. I could feel the wind blowing on my face, and I could feel the lifelessness in my arms and legs as I release the tension and let the sails take me away. The fact that the audience can relate to something which doesn’t make a whole lot of intuitive sense is a success on the part of the author, and she deserves to be recognized for it. That ability to float away is something every human ever has dreamed of doing. The background of the ocean helps add to the ambiance and natural auras one would feel if participating in this action of flying.

I’m slightly puzzled as to how the author took this photograph. Given that this image appears to be outside on a cloudy day, a slower shutter speed must have been used, especially with the depth of field being quite extensive. I’m confused as to how Lissy Elle Laricchia was able to avoid motion blur if that is the case. I’d also like to see how she so flawlessly put the sails of the ship on her back, given that there’s no mainframe of the ship in the background. Some kind of Photoshop must have been used to combine aspects of these images. I wonder what the images looked like in RAW format before they were all layered and edited together.

In this image there is a girl floating with white boat sails holding her up. She is wearing a white and blue striped shirt. She is also wearing a black skirt and white socks up to her knees. The girl has sandals on with those socks. In the background, there is a grayish and bluish sky and the ocean. The girl is floating above sand on a beach. There is very tall grass on that beach. The grass looks dead. The girl appears to be unconscious.

The image is using grays, blues, and tans. The lighting is sunlight. There isn’t much sunlight to give the photograph lighting though because of the thick clouds in the sky. The image is pleasing to look at. The rule of thirds is not being used. The image is asymmetrical. It is using a deep depth of field.

The photograph is taken from the photographer’s point of view. The focal point of the image is the floating girl. There is a skyline in the background. There are also lines of small waves in the ocean. Lines of grass are more lines in the image. The lines direct the viewer’s eye to the floating girl. The subject does not fill the entire frame.

There could be a story being told in this image. A potential story is that the girl is dreaming. The fact that she is floating is not possible in real life, but it could be possible in a dream world. The girl also appears to be unconscious, which usually means she is asleep. Dreams happen when one is asleep.

I like the image. I like it because I personally believe that it looks good. I also like how the image seems to be put in a dream setting, which makes it look pretty cool. I think the photograph is successful. I think this because it shows a dream world, which I believe was the artist’s intent.

The image by Lissy Laricchia is of a girl on a beach. It’s not your typical portrait where the subject matter is posing and smiling. This girl is hunched over in mid-air, with ship sails on her back. This image has good, natural lighting. The main colors that are used in this image are dull blues and greens, while the girl's clothing makes her stand out against the background.

This image does not follow the rule of thirds because the girl is in the center of the photo. The photographer uses a more shallow depth of field to draw attention and focus to the girl. The point of view from which this photograph was taken is that of a person standing in front of her. The focal point of this image is the levitating girl. I think the picture is pleasing to look at because the girl is framed nicely.

The lines that stand out in this image are the lines made by the plants, horizon and ocean, and the stripes on the girl's shirt. This image is symmetrical because the girl is framed in the middle of the photo with shrub and sky on both sides of her. The subject does not completely fill the frame because there is lots of sky above her and sand underneath her. I like how the artist leaves lots of sky in the picture because it leaves the viewer in anticipation wondering where she is going. I think the positive space in this image is the girl and the sky above her.

I think the artist was trying to create an image that displays imagination. It shows us the innocence of a child mild and where your dreams can take you. This image seems very dream-like to me and reminds of crazy ideas and dreams I have had. I think Lissy Laricchia’s intentions for creating this photograph are to tell people that if you can dream it, you can do it. This is an inspiring image that shows us that our dreams are not too big, and we should pursue them.

I like this image a lot. I love how creative and unique it is. I think this photo is very successful because of its many ways to interpret its meaning. I love the inspiring aspect of the image and how it shows us to reach our goals. I think that successful photographers create images that people can relate to and tie into their own life. That is exactly what Lizzy Laricchia did.

This is an image of a girl levitating at the ocean. The girl has a sailboat on her back and is leaning over. She is wearing a sailor girl outfit. The colors that are being used are grey for the sky because it’s a cloudy day, white for the sand, blue-grey for the water and green for the grass. The lighting is natural light and it’s a darker natural light because the photograph was taken out side and on a very cloudy day. The objects that are in the image are a girl, and a toy sailboat. What is happening in the image is that the girl is looking at the sand while levitating on the beach.
The image is pleasing to look at because it’s composed in a well organized manner. The rule of thirds is not being used in this photograph by Lissy Elle Laricchia. The point of view is someone looking and wondering what the girl is doing. A shallow depth of field is being used in this image. The image is symmetrical. There is a little of every part of the image in each section of the photograph.
The subject does not fill the entire frame. The edge of the image is the ocean and the grass on both sides. The frame crops off the rest of the sandy beach and the rest of the ocean. The positive space is the girl and the grass. While the negative space is the ocean.
The ideas that are portrayed in the image are that you want to go to the beach to have fun and relax on a sunny day and stay inside on a cloudy day. I think that he artist made this image because she wanted to have fun and let people gain a different perspective meaning that people don’t usually take photos of people levitating. This image reminds me of the book Where the Wild things are because it’s about a kids dream and this image looks like it’s in someone's dream. I believe that this does not challenge or question one’s beliefs because I believe that it’s in a dream like state. I think that this image is interesting because you don’t see many images taken where the subject is levitating.
I like this image because I think that when the subject is standing in a different way, in this case levitating, it makes the image unique. I also like this image because it interesting to look at. I wonder how they took the photograph. I also wonder what their thought process was when they took the photograph. I think that the image is successful because it’s unique. I also think that the image is significant because the way the photographer had to get the subject to stand must have been difficult.

The image is of a girl that appears to be lifted up by some boat sails. The image is taken on a walkway to a beach. The lighting is very dark and cloudy. The sky shows no sign of sunlight and the ocean in the back is very choppy and full of white caps. The sand looks very fine and soft instead of grainy and rough. The smooth waviness of the tall grass on the side of the walkway is a sharp contrast the the aggressive ocean waves in the background.
The darker lighting makes the image more calming to look at. It uses a deep depth of field. The bottom half of the image is being framed by the tall grass walkway and the top half of the image is free and not framed. The line that directs your eye is the grass walkway. It leads your eye from the bottom of the image, to the girl, and then to the waves and the sky beyond. The image, to me, is balanced because there is a fairly even amount of grass on both sides of the girl and the background is pretty repetitive.
With the outfit that the girl is wearing and the old-timey sails that are on her back and lifting her up, the theme seems implied to be that the girl wanted to be a sailor of some sort. Along with the clothing and the sails, the image was taken on a beach. Sailors love the ocean so it would make sense that it was taken on the beach. But, the girl looks limp when she’s being lifted, maybe even unconscious. So maybe the story is that someone close to her, a family member perhaps, wants her to be a sailor and is forcing her into it. I’ve had numerous dreams of my family forcing me into stuff and then you get picked up and invested into it and then there’s no way out. She is literally being picked up by sailing and being carried away from her world by it. Another possible meaning that the image can have is that she got so carried away by her love that it killed her, hence why she’s limp.
The image took a long time to try and decipher what it meant. At first glance it was just a girl being abducted by some sails. I don’t particularly like this image. I’m not quite sure why, something about it just weirds me out. I think it might be the fact that I’ve had a dream quite similar to this and it was pretty awful and scarring. The composition I like however, the dark theme really pulls out some of the distaste that I have for this image.
Besides my disliking for this image, I think that for others it might be a successful storytelling piece. The waves and the grass make it very pleasing aesthetically speaking but it just reminds me too much of something that I can’t quite put my finger on. The image is also a little uncomfortable for me. Just the way she’s dangling from the sails just rubs me the wrong way. I think this is the first image that I haven’t liked or thought it was successful or even agreed with the message. If the intended meaning for the image was anything like my personal dream or my interpretations of it, I don’t think it’s at all successful. The image is a nice calming thing to look at though, as long as you ignore the dangling girl in the foreground. This image has a lot of potenial to inspire and reach out to a lot of people, I just don't feel the connection. I feel like I've seen a million pictures that look just like this.

This photograph made by artist Lissy Laricchia is of is of a girl floating in the air, only a little bit of the ground. The girl is wearing a white and blue striped long-sleeve shirt that is tucked into a black mid-thigh skirt. She has on white knee-high socks paired with brown sandals. She has copper colored hair that is covering her face, and on her back there is a small sailboat with many thing strings that attach itself to the girl. The girl is floating with her legs and face dangling and her back arched up, almost as if the sailboat is lifting her up into the air. Below her, there is sand and tall brownish green grass. In the background you can see the ocean and the shore, hence the sand. The sky seems very dull with no clouds in sight but no sun, it’s more of a gray blue sky.

The floating girl is centered in the middle of the photograph with the tall grass surrounding her. The photographer took the image standing at the side of her body so you would be able to see her body’s positioning, and not just her face and a little of her back if it were a straight-on photo. The girl is framed by the tall grass which surrounds her. The grass is pointing towards the right, indicating it was also windy during the time in which Laricchia took the photo. A deep depth of field is being used because you don’t only see the girl and everything else is just blurry, but the girl, grass, and ocean is clearly visible and crisp.

To shoot this image, Laricchia most likely had a low ISO (100) because the setting was gloomy and dull, and in order to get the perfect exposure, a low ISO would have needed to be used. I think there was a lot of photoshop used in this image. I doubt the girl would have been able to jump into the position she is in in the image, which is why it is more likely that she was stepping on a stool or an object and was able to get into the position so Laricchia would be able to take a clear photo. Then, the setting of the image would have been taken, and the two would be photoshopped together. Lastly, Laricchia would have also had to photoshop the sailboat onto the girl’s back.

Many different themes could be concluded from observing this photograph, but I think the main one is about fantasy and dreams. Obviously a girl floating isn’t realistic at all, but in dreams/fantasy, anything is possible. Photoshop is very useful when creating a surreal and dreamy photo because with photoshop, the artist can create anything they want. Another story behind this image could be the girl loves the ocean and sailing and when she’s doing this, it frees her and lifts her up, hence the sailboat lifting the girl up.

Overall, I really liked this photo. I find photographs that are photoshopped and have a fantasy/surreal quality to them are some of the best photos. I appreciate how the photographer didn’t overdue the photoshop use, but left the image very simplistic and able to be interpreted in many different ways.

This image is of a girl who is on a beach, but she is faced toward the ground and floating. It looks like the old looking boat above her is carrying her. She is wearing a navy and white striped long sleeve shirt, a red and off-white looking bandana with some type of pattern, a black skirt, knee-high white socks, and brown sandals. She has medium length brownish-reddish hair and pale skin. The colors are very grey toned like the sky and the water is a blue-grey kind of.

The rule of thirds is not being used in this image, because the subject is photographed in the center of the image. This is in the photographer's/ people's point of view. I don't think it's pleasing to look at, because the way she is photographed I don't like it. I feel like you can tell its fake by the way her back is covering the boat to make it look like it is carrying her. She the subject is the focal point and this image is framed.

My eyes direct me to lines of the tall grass then to the ocean where it meets the sky, and then to her shirt. This image looks balanced because it has enough things to kind of fill up the frame. Not all of the subject fills the screen but there is tall grass that kind of takes up most what would be empty space. All the image crops off is some more grass. The negative space is at the bottom of the image and the positive is at the top.

I don't really see a theme to this particular image. No there is no story to this photograph. I don't see what her intention was, I guess ti have an image that looks dreamy to add to her dreamlike series. No this does not remind me of anything that I've ever seen. No, it doesn't challenge any of my beliefs and it shouldn't challenge anyone else's.

I don't like this photo because I don't see the dream aspect of this and I know it's supposed to be dreamlike but I just don't see where that is showing in this image. and it just really bothers me of how it looks fake. It's different and creative but it doesn't spark any interest in me. I think it might be successful but for personally I don't think it is, that's just because I don't like it.

The dreamlike photograph of some approximately 7 year old girl hanging of the sails off of a sailboat while she is asleep or dead. The sailboat girl seems to be in a beach with no sign of people anywhere nearby There is tall grass surrounding the sailboat girl and the sailboat girl is above a circle of sand surrounded by the tall grass. In the background of the image there is the calm sea with weak waves and the sea is slightly transparent.

The photograph uses very light blending colors for the background of the photo and the girl has a white shirt with a black skirt and has some white napkin like thingy which has red edges with red dots on it. The boat sails are of the color white which means they are not pirate ship sails and the white color of the sails on the sailboat girl could symbol how the girl and the beach are pure in this dreamlike place and how the rest is bad.

The idea of this dreamlike image is the purity of dreams and how the outside of this dreamlike world is all bad but this is a very good calm place in the seaside. The story of this image is of a person in a dream who is calmly walking in the beach and suddenly encounters this sailboat girl and could have known the sailboat girl from before. The artist made this image for the fun of making optical illusions and weirdness and money or for some personal reason. The image challenges the laws of gravity. The image is quite interesting.

The photograph by Lissy Elle Larlcchla was liked by me because of its optical illusion and fun weirdness. The image was incredibly successful because of its weirdness and how it challenges the laws of gravity and how it has a appropriate background.

The image is of a little girl floating or levitating above the ground. There is a boat that seems to be sticking behind her back at a curve that matches her back's curve. Her shirt is white with black stripes. The girl is also wearing a black skirt. Her hair has a hazelnut shade to it. The lighting is natural and it looks like it was a cloudy day. In the background, emerald waves are crashing at the shore. There is grass on the bottom portion of the frame. The grass has a burnt color. The sky is clear and is grey with hints of blue.
The image does not use the rule of thirds as the subject is centered. The image is also symmetrical. The focal point seems to be the white and red bandana hanging from her neck. The grass bundles create lines at the top that lead to the subject. Also, the girls back creates an arc-shaped line as so does the boat. The sea creates the horizon line that cuts the subject's knees from our perspective. The subject does not fill the frame as there is a lot of extra space for us to explore.
I think the image's theme has something to do with the downfall or failure of something because the arc her back is making symbolizes an end of something. The picture reminds me of Florida as I have visited the beaches there. The image not that noteworthy or exciting to me. The image does not connect with me, and nothing pops out. The picture almost feels dull and uninteresting.
An important detail that stands out is that the girl seems to be dressed as a sailor. There is also a boat that looks like is almost lifting her. The two details seem to collaborate to create a sailing image. I believe the ship symbolizes dreams and the act of dreaming. The girl is the dreamer which is why she is dressed like a sailor. The artist is essentially saying that dreaming is like sailing on the sea as you are the sailor following the waves.
I don't like the image, but I do appreciate the artist's vision. The image seems boring and dull, as it sparks nothing in my mind. It's also aesthetically unpleasing to me because the design of ships and sea equipment make me feel sick due to my association to seasickness.
The photograph in my opinion the photograph is successful though. The image can convey it's message and metaphors very clearly and concisely. The picture doesn't make the symbols too obvious though which creates the right balance. Also, the image has a clean feel, and the colors are crisp.

In this image there is a girl in a white shirt with navy stripes, a navy skirt, a scarf and knee high white socks with brown sandals. She is a small rise overlooking the beach with tall grass all around her. She is in midair and hunched over looking towards the ground, making her appear unconscious. She has sails from a ship coming out of her back. Her light brown hair is blurred and the grass is bending so it appears to be windy.

The color in this photo are muted. The ocean is a blue-grey and the sky is grey, while the grass is a soft green and tan. The sails are white with light brown masts. This makes the red of her scarf and the sharp navy of her skirt and shirt stand out. The lighting is natural. There is no way of knowing what time of day it is because it is too cloudy.

The rule of thirds is not being used because she is centered in the frame. I think the depth of field being used is at about a medium aperture setting. The grass in the foreground is in focus, the girl is in focus and the sand beneath the girl is in focus, but the grass behind her and the ocean are out of focus. The focal point is the girl. She is framed by a break in the grass and a path of sand. Some leading lines are the lines where the sand becomes the grass on the path. This photo is balanced.

I think the idea of this image is based on dreams. I think the story being told is the journey and the places that her dreams take her. She could be ship at sea, even from her own bed. This photo reminds me of the movie Peter Pan. In Peter Pan, there is a flying ship. Because the girl is in midair, it seems to me that a little pixie dust was involved, especially since the photo seems hard to stage and take at the right time.

I really like this photo because of the adventure and the dream like state that it implies. I think this photo is really beautiful because of the colors and the location. I also like how the cloudy sky adds to the photo. This photo is very unique. I think this photo is successful because it shows where dreams can take you.

This image is of a woman levitating off of the ground, and masts coming out of her back with the sails unfurled. The background of the picture uses greys and dull colors to highlight the woman’s dress which almost looks that of a sailor. The lighting is pretty dark because there is cloud cover above. She seems to be at the top of a sand dune and the picture will not show her face to the viewer. The photo also looks as if she was trying to go somewhere and make it very dream like.

The photographer made this photo by jumping and catching her motion with a high shutter speed. Since it is dark outside she probably had to use a higher ISO in order for the picture to still be perfectly exposed. Also she probably used a focal length in the middle because the background is still a little focused and she is also in focus. It also looks the photographer dressed up to bring that aspect of a sailor which just makes the photograph so much better. Finally she used probably photoshop to put the sail on her back and make this picture look so unreal.

The composition of the photo is very pleasing to look at. The reason for this is all of the colors in the picture are very pleasing to look at and it is very grey bring out the red striped of the bandana. The rule of thirds is not being used. Next the photographer took it from her point of view, or maybe you could even call it the point of view of a dreamer. The depth of field would be medium because the photographer is still able to catch many details in the background without the foreground being blurry too.

A theme of this image could be Dream. I believe the story of this image is a person was in this unreal world in a dream and saw this women, but when he woke up all he can remember everything accept her face. The artist made this image in order to spark other people’s imagination. This photo does not remind me of anything I have seen or dreamt other than not remembering a face in a dream. I believe this image is beautiful because the photographer put it together in such a way it made it very majestic and unreal.

I believe photography has evolved over the years because it used to be something to just capture a moment, but now people are using it to make abstract, or different, masterpieces. I hope it will keep changing to the point that things no one could even imagine are being made. I just love this image so much because it has all of these aspects. Believe the image was very successful. This is because the photographer was able to imagine and let someone else see it for themselves.

In this photo, we are introduced to a young girl who appears to be floating. Looking at her surroundings we can tell that she is at the beach. Right behind her appears to be the masts of a ship propelling her into the air. The sky is grey and cloudy, making the entire image quite dull. The ocean looks to be calm, but judging by the grass around her, it appears to be windy.

Looking behind her, we can see the horizon line, drawing my eyes across the frame. Everything in this photo is in full focus, showing a deep depth of field. The photo itself is quite pleasing to look at but it is also quite eerie. The picture is quite symmetrical with the object in the center. Although there is lots of extra space in the image, it adds to the quiet nature of the photo, which I like.

When I look at this photo, it almost seems to be ironic to me. I think the image’s meaning is having no meaning. The young girl I think symbolizes childlike imagination and human ingenuity, but it is slowly being carried away by adulthood and stoic realism. Looking at the almost greyscale image, it almost makes me feel depressed, because the young girl doesn’t look like she wants to fly away, but the ship is taking her anyway. As the imagination is slowly taken away, so is meaning and purpose.

I think the beach also has some significance too. When we are children and we go to the beach, we can spend days there and not feel bored. At the beach, anxiousness and worry goes away. It is almost impossible to stay depressed with the relaxing waves and sunlight. But I think this image symbolizes the brutal robbery of everything the beach symbolizes. We are met with adulthood, a storm of apprehension and constant misery. The girl is the childhood the we all remember as the “good old days” and the ship is the removal of those wonderful times.

I honestly enjoy thinking about this photo, because it provokes my ideals about the future. It makes me excited about the future, a future where I want to be someone and live out a life that was just as good as my childhood. I am inspired whenever I look at this photo to no be taken by adulthood, but to step into it, knowing that I have a path and a purpose. And for that reason, I think this photo is very successful.

Lissy Elle Laricchia took this picture next to a beach on a cloudy day. The general tone of the image is bright but cold. On the lower portion of the image, there is sand and withered grass. The middle portion is occupied by the ocean. The color of the sky synchronize with the ocean but still has some differences. There is a girl in the middle of the image and is above the ground. She poses weirdly and it seems like the ship above her is dragging her up slowly.

The image can be considered symmetrical if you draw a vertical line in the middle. The rule of third is being used when the photographer is composing the relationship between the ground versus the sky. The line that separates the ocean and sky also brings the viewers’ eyes to the main subject, the girl in the middle. The colors and the patterns on the girl’s clothes contrast with the background. They emphasise the character and the positive space in this image. The picture is also well framed, there are very few things besides the subjects which allow Lissy Elle Laricchia create a neat image

The image can be interpreted differently. I personally think that it is a very calming image because of the cold colors and the peacefulness of the sea. In this scenario, a girl pops up in an image with a ship that is dragging her up, with her messy hair and weird pose, she is breaking the peacefulness of the image. The ship is a symbol for sailing far away from home and dream. I think the Lissy Elle Laricchia wants to emphasise the power of either two choices listed above. However, I can’t identify whether the author wants to express a more positive or negative emotion through the image.

In general, I like this image because it appeals to me emotionally and makes me feel the tranquilness and the peacefulness. It displays a dreamy scene next to the beach. The framing and the composition are visually pleasing, same as the color use. Neverthlessness, when I first saw the image, it doesn’t strike me hard because of its peacefulness. The confusing content of the image also perplexes me for various reasons.

The image was shot underneath a cloudy day which means the shutter speed should be low. She also uses low ISO. The way the girl pose herself does not seem like she has jumped into that position. Since the ship is distinctively not supposed to be in that position, Lissy Elle Laricchia must use the technique that allows two images to combine into one. In this case, the girl and the ship are supposingly from the other image.
