This image is of a girl looking out a window. It is using black and white and grey. It is using these colors to give it an older look. The lighting is natural light coming from the window. The girl is looking out the window and is the only person in the picture and the thing behind her is blurred out.

The image is exposed correctly. The image is partially in focus. The only part in focus is the girl and everything else is blurry. The colors of the photo can't be correctly expressed because it is in black and white. There is some pixelation on the walls and in the background.

The image is pleasing to look at because it shows the longing of the girl. The rule of thirds is being used because the girl is in the middle and the blurred out thing behind her is on the right. The point of view is from the side of the girl and at the same level as her. She is the focal point of the photo. The lines of the wall and the floor lead towards the girl.

The theme of the image is to try to leave society every once in a while when we still have the chance. The girl obviously wants to go outside and enjoy herself in nature but she can't. Something is keeping her from staying, and it is shown in the blurred out thing behind her. I believe this photo is successful and I like it because it makes me want to leave my busy life to go enjoy nature and its simplicity and i believe it will challenge others to do the same.

This image is of a little girl looking out the window. It is using black and white but they made the black and white look like an old photo. This photo could actually be very old and they did nothing to it. It is bright sunlight in this photo. This photo looks like from the early 1900's.
I would say this image is just right. Yes the image is focusing on the little girl. I really like this image it is very pleasing to look at because of the lighting. Yes the photographer used the rule of thirds. The focal point is the little girl.
Even though her head is blurry because she moved. The positive space is the girl and the negative space is the floor and what is behind her. I think there is a story being told. This could of been taken a long time ago when girls this age had to work. Or it could be a new photo but, they made you think it was from the 1900's.
I think the intention was to show that back then little girls had to work for their families to make money. It was such a horrible time how everyone was in poverty. So the photographer definitely achieved that. Yes it reminds me of the early 1900's and this photo is really cool to look at. I really like this photo and I think a lot of other people will too.

This is an image portraying a small girl looking out a window. She appears to be in a warehouse or a factory of some kind. This image is using natural colors. The image does not seem to be over or under exposed. This image has no color meaning it was probably a very old photograph.

This image is neither over or under exposed. There is no pixelation in the image meaning it was shot with a low ISO. The image is focused at the center but becomes a little blurry at the end of the hall. It is also blurred at the front of the image. This is due to the aperture settings the photographer chose.

The girl is somewhat framed by the corridor she is in. This image is symmetrical, and has lines leading to the girl in the center of the image. there is a bit of positive and negative space above and below her. The photograph cropped off the right side of the wall that is behind the girl.

I do not like this image, it is not very pleasing to look at. The purpose of the building that she is in is also confusing. I think the theme of this image is the lack of nature. The girl is looking out the window with a gloomy face. It is possible that all the nature surrounding the building has died and there is no vegetation left.

This sepia image by Lewis Hine is a portrait. The image is of a young girl maybe 8-10 years old looking out a window. The window and industrious machine behind the girl indicate she probably a child worker in a factory. Also by noticing the age of the image, it was probably taken in the 1920s during the industrial revolution in the booming Americas.

The girl has a dim and slightly sad look on her face. Looking out the window indicates that she yearns to be outside even if it’s the crowded, dirty bustling, urban street. It is better than the hot, cramped and tiring room she is in. Her rolled sleeves and dirty apron show us the hard work she has been doing. her innocence seems to be stripped away from her.

I really admire the photographer’s choice of lighting. There doesn’t seem to be any running electricity for lightbulbs during the day (probably in order to save money) the only source of light is the natural sunlight from the large windows. The light hits the subject in a way that draws our eyes to her. however it also creates complimenting shadows on the factory machines behind her. The photographer used a small aperture to create a shallow depth of field to focus on the subject.

The photographer probably did this to visually portray the conditions of child workers. At the time the public knew of child labor and had a vague idea how bad it was. However, seeing this on newspapers makes the dilemma more real. In this image you can the see the filthy factory floor, tight spacing and the emotional state of the girl. This is the job of photojournalists. This photographer probably helped revolutionize how people perceived child labor.

There is a lot of detail stuffed into this picture. the time frame is around when there was an industrialization boom. You can tell by the cotton looms to her right that she is in a factory. Though she is so young she is working around these big and sometimes dangerous machines. This was obviously before the big deal about child labor.
The longing look in the little girls eye might show how repetitive her days are. Back then they worked like twelve hour shifts and got up very early five or six days a week. This job has basically taken her childhood from her. This shows in her almost let down body language. But judging by her faint smile she is kind of enjoying life, but she still wishes to be somewhere else.
The girl is in focus while the background is not. The hallway behind the girl, that is out of focus, symbolizes her loneliness. This is also shown by her longing look out the window. By the look on her face she might see other children playing. Maybe she just wants someone to be friends with and is desperate to find that.
Because the image is black and white, a lot of the detail is blended together, but there are a few things that stick out. The cotton clumps on the floor of the loom shows that people were just working there. Whether it was five minutes or an hour ago the girl has nowhere better to be and so she stays there. The way the light shines through the windows symbolizes freedom and the inside of the building symbolizes responsibility or commitment.

The photo is about a little girl looking outside the window. It has a little fading color. It gives the picture some old looking. It uses the natural sunlight from outside the window. The building is old and dirty. The girl is standing in the hallway. We can see that the girl is living with a poor family because of the clothes she is wearing is not cleaned.

The photo is in focus. The main topic of the picture is the little girl. The photographer uses a shallow depth of field, the background is all unclearly. The exposure of the photo is right overall, but the face of the girl and the thing on the other side of the hallway is overexposed. We can't see the girl's face clearly.

The picture is really pleasing to look at. The composition of the photo is successful. It uses the rule of third. The girl is on the left side of the picture. There are leading lines in the photo. The hallway and the window frame can always lead our eyes to the girl.

I think the photo has a deep meaning. I think that the girl is really poor. However, she has a dream in the future, and the future is bright. But the window only allow her to look at her future, it doesn't allow her to achieve to the future dream that she has. It represent the current situation of poor children. They all want to have a great future but many things blocked them. It makes me cherish the life that I have. I like this photo very much. It's a meaningful picture.

This photo depicts a young girl who is staring outside a window. The girl is in what looks to be a bottle factory. The image has a black and white filter. The image is also stained.

The shadows of the photo seem to get darker as the image approaches your eye. The image seems to be overexposed. The filter seems to hide this though. The whites are also emphasized as well as the shadows. The image is very grainy, leading me to believe that this is a past image.

This image is pleasing to look at, as the grain and the filter add a personality to it. The focal point seems to be the girl. The lines are also the rows of bottles. The reason I believe this is due to how the bottles direct your eye towards the girl. The rows are also the negative space.

The edge of the image appear to be the walls and the rows of bottles. It is also taken at a slight angle, just a foot above the girl. The theme of this image is child labor. My impression of this image is that the girl either lives or works at the factory, maybe both. The girl wants to experience the outside world, but she has to work first.

The photo is of a girl standing in front of a window. The colors are monochromatic, to show age of the photo and simplicity. The lighting is natural window lighting. There is a machine next to her and it stretches down the entire length of the image.
The photo is perfectly exposed. The girl is in focus along with the window. The Whites are some what colored because of the monochromatic effect. There is no pixelation.
The rule of thirds is not being used. The image is pleasing to look at because all the soft lines of the brick lead you to the girl. The photo's focal point is the girl in the center. The edge of the image contains the roof the brick wall and the machine.
The girl is standing looking out the window smiling, so maybe she wants to leave where she is. She might be working hard hours at the machine. She wants to leave and believes that something better will happen with her life.

This is an image of a young girl looking out of a window. It is using black and white probably to convey emotion. It is using natural light and dark shadows. There are rows of bottle behind her and they seem to stretch on really far. The wall she is facing is made of brick. She is smiling and there isn't much action.
The image isn't underexposed or overexposed. The girl is in focus but the background isn't. The color is correct. There is adequate resolution.
It is pleasing to look at because of the lack of action and the peacefulness of it. It uses the rule of thirds because on the border of each third is the border between the floor and the wall and the floor and the rows of bottles. The depth of field is very shallow. The photographer took the photo from the kid's eye level. The focal point is the kid and she is bordered by the walls. The image is pretty much symmetrical. There is hardly any extra space. The frame crops off the roof and the ends of the walls. The girl and the window light is the only positive space.
There is the idea of isolation and youth in the photo. It is probably describing how women used to work a lot as children. I like this photo because it is successful. It was successful in telling it's message of this trapped girl.

This photo shows a girl looking out a window is a very serious manner. She looks entrapped in one area of her life. The photographer is probably trying to show that she is curious in the outside world. The photo is trying to show that even though you feel entrapped you can be curious all of your life. This photo is a success.

The focal point of this photo is the little girl. This image is not underexposed audit looks a little over exposed though. This image is in focus, and it is in the girl. Th coloring is correct in this photo, whites are whites in this photograph. There is not that much pixelation in the photograph.

This image for me is not pleasing to look at. I find this image very disturbing or weird. The point of view is birds eye view. The lines direct you to the little girl. The image is very balanced. The subject does not fill the frame.

This image is a success because it can have many meanings behind it. This is a very meaning fun picture to the audience. I can somehow reflect on this image because of the message it can be sending. This photograph is a success. This image is very pleasing to look at, because of the color.

In this picture you see a little girl staring out of a window. This girl seems very curious about the outside world. She is inside of some old building, This image seems a bit over exposed. And focused on the little girl. There is no pixilation in this image. I find his image pleasing to look at, a photo of a little girl stuck in a huge abandoned building. The rule of thirds is being used, because the little girl is on the left side of the frame.

In this image, the lines are focused on the lockers, directing your eyes onto the little girl. This image crops almost nothing off, the lockers would continue to stretch and the wall would seem closer and closer. Although only a little bit of the image is cropped off, the subject seems to fill the frame perfectly, including everything that needs to be included.

I don't believe there to be a story being told in this image, maybe, the girl is exploring or trying to find something, but not much is being told. The artist is trying to make us believe more in the foundation of exploring, and this image reminds me of when I was younger, even till this day, I love to explore anything, get into abandoned buildings, or just try to search for something in specific. This image challenges social assumptions, of how the society used to be back in the day, versus how it is now. Everyone is different doing other things, and exploring isn’t much of an option anymore.

I enjoy this image, it reminds me of what I used to do and would love to keep doing if I had the time. I also find this photo pretty successful, it doesn't send a direct message but if you have had the experience of venturing, then this image can truly speak to you. The colors, the focus, all involved in getting a point done. The most interesting thing is the location she could be in, how she is dressed, and how old she could possibly be, this questions me, and the thought of how the image was taken is very unique.

This is a beautiful image of a girl looking out of a window. The coloring in the image has a sepia coloration, making the image more interesting to the eyes. The girl appears to be in a factory, and she is possibly looking out at the outside world yearning for a better life. This image uses a good composition. The exposure is correct, and the colors are good. Furthermore, the image has good form.

This image contains a very good form and composition. The lines in the image, particularly the window and the factory machine, draw the viewer to the subject of the picture. The rule of thirds is used in the image, with the subject of the image being on the left side. The image uses a shallow depth of field. The image is also taken from a bugs eye point of view.

This image conveys complex themes and interesting ideas. The image juxtaposes the little girl and the factory with the outside world. The girl looks out the window with yearning wishing to be anywhere but the factory. This image could have had powerful effects during the times of child labor, and it could have inspired people to change. The image reminds me of other pictures taken during the era of reformation by photographers taking pictures of child labor, given that it conveys the same deep meaning and complex themes.

I like this image a lot. It conveys a very powerful and important message. Furthermore, I like that the image tries to enact social change. I also like the coloration in the image, and I think it increases the effect of the image given that the coloration it makes you think that life in the factory is monotonous. All in all, this is an excellent image.
