This image is a monotone colored composition made by Paul Strand. The image is an aerial shot from above of what seems to be someones backyard. There isn't much to be seen from the aerial view which we are encountering here, just a few clothes lines. This perhaps indicates a theme of simplicity and beauty in the simply which Strand wanted to evoke. The image is interesting to look at due to its complex qualities, its interesting form.

This image is very interesting. This is an image of a birds eye view of someones back lawn. The colors are very interesting and dark. The lighting is very good, it is natural lighting. The objects that are included in this image are, bed sheets, close pins, grass, and a fence surrounding it.

This image appears to be a back yard of a small home. You can infer that the people living there can't afford a washing machine, or that this was taken before the washing machine was invented. This uses natural light and was taken in the daylight. there are no people in the image only some clothes drying and dirt. 2/1/2017 09:41:41 am
This image is of a person's backyard. There are two clotheslines with clothes hanging and a sheet hanging on both sides. It is taken in black and white. There are shadows of the sheet, clothes, and wall. These are the only objects in the image and no people are present.

This is a black and white arial image of a clothes line in somebodies backyard. It uses black and white probably to accentuate the brightness and cleanliness of the clothes. It is a sun light photo with long, dark shadows. You can see into the yard next to the one with the clothes line, where it looks like there is trash on the ground. The clothes are blowing in the wind.

This photo is of a small backyard with clothing hanging on the clothesline. the image uses dark colors to show unhappiness. The lighting uses dark shadows and the sunlight is not very bright. There are no faces or people in the photo but there are clothes and dead plants and a fence. The image is in focus, and it is exposed correctly. The whites and the resolution don’t look correct so this photo was probably taken a long time ago.

The picture is taken in a yard. There are two ropes holding across the top the yard. The ropes are holding a big piece of cloth. However, most of them are teared apart and there is only one part left on the ropes. The sunlight make a shadow of the cloth on the ground.

This image is taken from a birds eye point of view. This is to show something big as a small and seeming insignificant. in this photo in particular it shows backyard with laundry hanging from clothes lines. This shows how everyday life looks insignificant when you think about it.

The photo is of a fence with clotheslines hanging up with sheets. It is a monochromatic photo using a yellowish color. The lighting has a lot of shadows. He uses natural lighting for his photo because he is outdoors. 2/1/2017 09:52:45 am
This image contains what looks like to be a set of clotheslines in someone's backyard. There is a fence that points out the contrast between the two backyards. The image has a filter over it which is meant to show off an old and faded tone. The image obviously has natural sunlight shining over the frame. Although, the filter seems to abstract the natural light, also giving it a faded tone.

The image is of a birds-eye view looking down on backyards of a suburban neighborhood. Their is a distinct wall separating the two simple properties. The yards seem bare with a basic cement walkway covered with sheets and clothes hung on a clothesline. Even with the plain tones present in the image it is also detailed such as the shadows produced from the sheets and branches directly underneath the object. This lets us know it was shot in a fairly bright sunlight in the middle of that day.

This Paul Strand image is very intriguing in my opinion. This image shows a view from what seems to be a window. The images lines are all diagonal including the rope which carries the clothes to dry. This image is taken with a good intent to have all of the lines. This image was shot on film. So that means it has no filter or has been edited.

In this image you get the bird's eye view over a lot of the cloth being dried in the hot temperature. This image is using an old film/ grain filter which is the cause for the dramatic look. The tint seems to be very brownish and mixes very well with the time of day and the location which thi was at. This image consists of sunlight during sunset causing that very light shadow effect and that's the reason that the original black and white look worked out so well when put with the tints/ tinted paper.
