The image features a bed with a book on it (potentially the Bible), a cardboard box with towels in it, tattered shoes on the ground, and a wall with four baby photos on it. The image uses cooler and relaxed colors, except for one towel in the box, which is a bright red. The room seems to be lit by natural light, and sub sequentially has some shadows. There is a significant amount of shadows under the bed and the box and shoes cast a shadow behind them as well. Nothing is happening in this image, everything seems to be just lying where they were placed.
The image is properly exposed, there is nothing too dramatic about it. Everything does seem to be in focus as well. The colors are correct too, and the image has an good resolution. The image has a chill and tranquil vibe to it, thus making it please to look at. The photographer took the image at eye level, making it seem as though the viewer is looking from the viewpoint of someone who owns the bed. The are lines along the wall which lead the viewers eye to the bed. The objects don’t take up the entire frame, rather leave some room on the sides.
The is most definitely a story being told here. It could be about someone who is living away from home or something, or about a college student perhaps. The artist made this image to make the viewer think (as most artists do). They might want to tell a personal story through this image. Personally I don’t think this image is all that noteworthy. I get what the artist is trying to (sort of), but the image is just kind of bland. the photo looks great, but it didn’t spark any thoughts about what it could be about for me.
Overall I think the image is all right. Nothing to crazy or special about it. I do think that it looks great, but it isn’t as interesting as the other images we’ve seen in class before. I guess I enjoy it, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. I think the image is semi-successful as the the author does spark some sort of thought out of the viewer, and they did take a good picture. But other than that, it’s alright.

This is an image of a bed, a pair of shoes, baby photos and a box of towels. This picture is very white and blue. The wall takes up much of the top portion of the picture and the blue tile takes up most of the bottom part of the picture. The only faces we can see are baby pictures but you can tell a man is currently living here by the shoes. You can see the shadows of the bed and shoes and box. It seems as though there is a light source such as a window outside of the picture that we can not see.

This picture is very bland and normal. Nothing out of the ordinary is going on. The photo seems to be pointing at the bed and its has a few different objects around it such as the shoes and baby pictures. The parallel bed frame help you notice the bed as well as it is the largest object in the room. There is a lot if extra space on the walls and the ground. Not much is going on. There is a shadow on the right edge that is cropped out of the picture.

This picture is very simple and seems to remind me of someone living in a dorm. You can see the shoes have been worn many times and that the bowled are just sitting on the box as if it were a dirty clothes pile. There is a book on the bed as well. This makes me translate the story as there is someone going to college but has a baby or little brother around as well. Nothing seems noteworthy in this picture but it seems to be a normal every day room.

I do not like this picture much because there is nothing going on. This picture leave us with to much to interpret. The author does not set a story straight and there are many things that could be going on. If feel as though this picture was not successful because it leave us to much room to interpret the photo for ourselves and doesn't give us anything to base it off of.

The image displayed above is of a bed. The bed is blue and brown. Theres only one pair of shoes a hoodie and towels. On top of the bed theres also a book/bible. There aren’t many decorations on the wall except for some baby pictures. The colors in this picture are lots of blues and grey and a tad bit orange.

The lighting in this image is bright but not too bright which makes me think its natural sunlight and not setup set light. The objects included in this picture are a bed, pictures, and clothing. But there are no people in this picture just objects. I feel like the picture is a perfectly exposed and you can tell by looking at how the shadows reflect off the objects.

The image is on focus on the bed. The picture, isn’t pleasing/non pleasing to look at and its just a picture anyway. The point of view of this picture is to tell a story. The angle the photographer, Zora Murff took this picture at was an angle from which you couldn’t see the whole room or how big it was or what else was in it but just he bed and its corner. The lines are vertical and are coming from the floor and the bed. The image is balanced. The subject fills the frame but yet theres more to it.

The themes/ideas in this image are a person living in a small bedroom who can’t afford much and is either a single mom or dad parent. I figured this theme out by looking at the amount of clothes and no decorations on the wall and assumed that the person is a single parent from the size of the bed and baby pictures on the wall. The image reminds me of a sad movie I saw when I was younger of a single parent. †his picture does not challenge my beliefs at all. I like this picture and I think it will every successful because even though its just a bed…it tells a story that a lot of people can relate too!

the image appears to be showing a typical college dorm room where someone just moved i and still has stuff to unpack. the image mostly contains the color white with the bed and box of stuff mostly a red blue mix. the room appears to be lite by a window or some natural light since the shadows move i on direction. the image is focused on the messily made bed, the laundry box, and the old air of shoes. the mage is describing the dorm room of a college kid.

the image is properly exposed with thing over or under. all the objects are in focus. all the colors appear to be correct but the photos on the wall blend in with the background. the image has adequate pixilation.

the image is pleasing to look at with the soft white background and solid colored objets. the rule of thirds is not being used in the image with the objects taking up most of the space with no singular focal point. the image is taken from the point of view of an outsider looking in there is a lot tat the view doesn’t know and would be helpful. the image is auto framed but he white border and blue ground which contains the viewers eyes in the photo. the image is asymmetrical with different colors and objects on booth sides. the subject fill the frame mostly but the extra pace is needed to contrast the objects.

i think the theme of the photo is that people will grow up but still have their past. i think their is a story but the viewer needs more info to know more.the image reminded me a a movie when the character moves to college and puts up photos of childhood and has a basic room setup. the image is just an image that rely isn’t that special or noteworthy. i don’t hate it but it is not my favorite due to its lake of giving an story and its basicity. the photo is not successful since it fails o party a good story or ave an beautiful photo.

This image is a simple composition, consisting of a single bed, a box with what appears to be dirty laundry, a pair of old tennis shoes, and a few small posters or images pinned on the wall. If you look closely, you can see that all four hanging pictures are of a baby. You can also see that lying on the bed is some sort of book. I could be mistaken, but to my eye the cover of the book says "Holy Bible". The lighting that the image shows appears to be normal and natural, as if the room were lit exclusively by natural outdoor light.
The image is in full color as the blacks look very black and the whites are indeed white. The image seems to be correctly exposed and entirely in focus. As far as pixelation and resolution, it seems to have a higher resolution because there is no apparent pixelation that can be seen to the naked eye.
The image follows the rule of thirds but only in particular areas. The box full of clothes for example is conveniently placed in the bottom left-hand corner of the photo. This picture has natural lines that point towards the center of the picture where the bed is placed and focused upon. From the lines in the tiled floor to the lines of the shadows casted from the outside light coming in, they direct your attention to the center of the photograph. The image was most likely shot with a smaller f-stop number, which would result in a wider aperture. Having this wider f-stop allows the entirety of the photos contents to be in focus from the foreground into the background.
I'm sure there is some kind of story being told in the image. Now, what that story is, is not something I can put my finger on. The image sends me mental images of silence, meditation, and thought. Between the lack of items in the room, the small bed, the bible, and the baby pictures on the wall, I see a story that could be within the ranging themes of regret, change, or memory. The image tells a story that can be customized to fit any persons mental image of the scene which is what makes it a good photograph.

This image shows what looks to be a college dorm or even a high school boarder. The picture shows baby pictures of im guessing him on the wall. It also shows his small twin sized bed neatly made and his shoes at the foot of his bed. Lastly this photo shows his laundry basket full to the brim with different types of clothings. This image shows a great variety of colors of cloth around his room. The picture also seems to be correctly exposed. It seems like he has a windows next to his bed but it is not in the frame. I can tell that from the shadows of the bed and the laundry basket. The image is in correct focus and the colors are right and there’s no seeing of pixelation.
It is pleasing to see this neatness of his room and the empty space in the photo makes your focus be on the bed. The lines in the wall direct you right to the bed. The images looks balanced but there’s seems to be a lot of empty space not taken up by the subject. The theme in this picture might be just college life. This reminds me of my room as a boarder but with way less empty space. The image is quite pleasing to look at for some unapparent reason. I like this photo and I can see why it would be successful.

Within this photo, there is a bed, shoes, four hanging photographs, a box of laundry and a few items on the bed. Maroon and light blue covers conceal the bed, blue speckled tile on the floor and black and coral is placed in the image. There is dark shadows but there is also some pretty bright places. The box holding the laundry is brown, the floors and walls are pretty neutral and so is a towel, and one of the towels is bright coral. This isn't a wealthy-looking bedroom due to the tile and lack of things on the walls and floor. Very simple and it is evident that its exactly luxurious. The worn black shoes, a box as a laundry basket, and a simple book is evidence of this. This image is correctly exposed and in focus. The color is correct and pixelation is not evident. This is pleasing to look at because of the different factors directing your eyes. The rule of thirds is being used due to the placement of the room, the only frame that really exists are the walls and floor, and the image is asymmetrical. The bedding, walls, and floor direct your eye throughout the photo. There is extra space and it seems to be taken from the point of view as if someone has just walked in the room. It crops off the rest of the room. I believe the story behind this image is that of a less privileged room, and it feels like alms every object has sentimental value, especially the photos on the wall. The photographer was trying to express how grateful either the viewer must be or the subject n the photo. It reminds me of one of those inspirational movies here the star starts off small and builds his way to the top, being grateful all the way there. Its very noteworthy in a sense of ways of life and how they can differ. I enjoy the image and it is successful in a way that it got its point across through various details in the photograph.

This looks to be a photo of a college dorm. The objects in this picture include: a bed, a pair of shoes, a cardboard box box filled with cloths, and pictures of infants on the wall. The colors i see in this photo are warm, and a couple of dark colors as well. There is nothing much happening in this photo, other than a quiet scene.
The photo looks to be perfectly exposed and in focus. The photo is color correct. There is some minor pixelation near the pictures on the wall, but also that might be the focus causing a blur. The photo looks to be taken at a smaller aperture because of the deep focus like f20. The shutter speed might have been a slower shutter speed like 1/25 because of the smaller aperture.
Some ideas that i see in this photo are college people. To me, this looks very much like the bed you will see in a college dorm. The cardboard box very much follow the stereotype for college acts because they cannot make very much money, so they have to improvise. There might be a story being told because of the photos of the babies on the wall. The person who might have slept there might had babies, and the sign of the empty bed might tell us that the person dropped out of school to house the child.
Overall, this photo is very pleasing to look at. The focus is correct, the aperture keeps the entire photo in focus, and the colors for me look nice to see. The story I see behind this photo seems very interesting, and tells somewhat of a lesson. This picture is very boring, and could have more objects, but the story behind it really makes you think about whats really going on. Overall, this photo is successful because, the photo is in great quality, it tells a story behind it, and it really makes the audience think again about what is really happening in this plain but mighty photo.

The image above by Zora Murff shows a bed, some towels, some shoes, and some baby pictures. It uses some blander tones (a grey blue, a grey towel, black shoes, off white wall). The lighting looks to be more of a studio setup because the lighting looks colder. Nothing is really happening in the image. It look stop be a still life.
The image is correctly exposed (there appears to be no clipping). The image is in focus and she probably used a smaller aperture for a deep DOF (to capture the shoes and baby pictures. The color is correct (the wall color looks like a usual off white colorant the orange looks orange). The image is a little grainy when blown up, though. That is kind of weird because that would not be expected from a professional photographer.
The image is not painful to look at but it is really boring. Vertically speaking the rule of thirds is being used though not really horizontally. The photographer took the photo at about head hight and from wha i would guess is a corner. The focal point is the bed and the image is not framed. The lines of the baseboards and the corner direct your eye to the bed and to the box of towels. The image is balanced side to side and also depth wise (the shoes and pictures off set each other). Te image is blank/has negative space on the top left, top right, and bottom left corners. There is positive space in the center of the image.
I think the theme is of a guy who is a young adult who recently had a kid. I think the artists intention was to make people think about the stresses of a young adults life. it does kind of remind me of what I would expect from a young adult living in a big city like New York or San Francisco or Chicago. In this way it kind of reminds me of my grandparents because they live in New York. it does not really challenge an beliefs, it kind of just is there. id on’t really mind the photograph, though I wouldn’t ant to buy it because it is kind of boring to look at. That being said if the artists intentions were what I thought then it is successful because I think it really displays that.

The image displays a bed with towels and a couple of baby pictures on the wall. The image is in color. To me the image looks to be equally exposed, with the light source going from a window. But in the pic there is no clear image of a window. But the way the rooms lighting is i have an idea that light comes from a window. The image has no life in it. To me the image is a bed with little to no stuff around it. Which is leaving me to conclude that the person living there is not to wealthy.

The image is equally exposed with some shadows. The image is in focus. The image looks to have no pixelation, and looks to have good resolution. It looks to have been taken at a downward angle. It is a good photo but looks to have a negative feel to it. The image looks to be filled. With little to no extra space. The subject is not just one thing in this photo, it is the entire photo that tells the story.

This image is a good image because it tells a story. The image displays objects that tell the story. The objects tell the story about the person living there. The story i get from this is that the person living there has little income and loves his family. It has a negative feel to it.

This image is interesting. It is a different image that tells a story. I personally like this photo. i like images that tell a story an this image does. The reason i like this image is cause of what is displayed in it. It is a successful piece.

In this image there is a bed in the corner of a room with grey walls and a washed blue tile floor. The bed is small most likely a single or twin size with faded red and blue sheets. Beside the end of the bed there sits a brown box overflowing with what looks to be towels, shorts, and blankets. There is also a pair of dirty black and white sneakers that are a men’s size. Upon the bed sits what appears to be a bible with a pair of black shorts. There is also four pictures of a baby taped to the wall beside the bed.
The picture has dark shadows that are prevalent in the corners of the room and the areas beside the bed. The image seems to be taken with a deep depth of field as everything in the photo looks to be in focus. The colors in the image seem to be very diluted with little color except for a orange blanket and the bed sheets. These color that are suppose to pop are still very washed versions of red, blue , and orange. Even with dark shadows the image is properly exposed as the dark shadows are due to the lighting source coming in at angle where the bed creates a lot of shadows.
The photographer took the image at an angle where the corner of the room is just slightly off-centered to the right. The photographer also uses the corner of the room to direct the viewer to the bed and then supplies accents around the bed to slowly draw the viewer out from the bed. The subject fills about one third of the frame and there is a lot of empty space on the walls besides the few sparse pictures of a baby. The image is still balanced due to most of the objects being in a horizontal plane in the middle of the image. .
A possible story of this image could be a father who has fallen under hard times or made wrong choices and is trying to live a better life for his son. This can be reasoned due to the bible on the bed accompanied by few items but a bed and some clothes. The images of the young child also support this idea. I did not find the image very interesting though as it left too much to the viewers interpretation and doesn’t make any bold moves. I found the image pleasing to look at as its mono tone colors are very satisfying. I enjoyed the image for what it was, but did not find much more in it as it failed to provide any real substance or meaning.

the image is of a bed with a red/brown and blue comfier. a yellow container with towels and jackets in it. the lighting is light and dark, there is sunlight coming from the right side of the photo most likely from a window.there is picture of a baby on the wall.

i think the image has a good exposer, it may be a little underexposed. the photo is in focus. there is pixilation. the whites are white. but the photo if the baby that is printed a photo paper is overexposed causing the bottom right corner to be white because of the glare from the sun.

when i first look at this photo my eyes go to the bed. i think that because the bed comfier has a complex pattern and every thing elsa is the photo is not eye catching. the negative space is the way wall on the top left side. the positive space is the bed, yellow tub, and shoes.

I like this photo out of the other photos we have had to wright a critical analysis about. it reminds me of collage dorms. if a guy just moved in to his dorm this is what i see. i think the baby pictures are of his baby of of a relative/family member.

this photo looks like it was taken of a college dorm. it appears the person living there has just moved in.the room is not very decorated except for the baby pictures on the wall above the bed. the person has two books laying on his bed. he also has a pair of un branded shoes sitting on his floor.
this person brought greyish greenish towels. he has an orange sweatshirt. on the bed there is a brownish relish and blue comforter. there are 1 to 2 pillows at the head of the bed under the comforter.
this image has good and equal exposure. the whit balance is perfect. the whole Image is in focus.
