this image is showing a little girl in a ballerina suit. however the girl has her face and arms edited out. the image uses relish tint to portray warmth and possibly comfort. he lighting is slightly bright but not over exposed.

the image is not under or over exposed. the image has a tint of red however the white look to be correct in color.the image is completely focused with no unfocused sections.

for me the image is pleased to look at. it doesn't incorporate the rule of thirds but it is still pleasing to look at. the main focus is on the body of the girl and she is centered in the middle of the photo. the trim on the wall create lines which daw the eyes to the body.also the crease on the wall draws the viewers eyes tot he center of the photo.

I think the image is trying to portray the theme of anybody can be anything. the author does this by removing an identifying characteristics on the body which allows the viewer to put themselves into the image and imagine what they could be. the image reminds me of a friend who does dance. the image only supports what i believe to be true in society. I find this image to be quite beautiful it draws the eyes well o the subject and makes me think.

This image is of half a girl in a ballerina-looking dress in a room that implies that its hers. The photographer uses a peach-pink walls color along with the light and hot pink dress. The two colors compliment each other. The lighting is pretty neutral and its coming from the left of the image. There are legs in the image but no face or arms fill the dress. The dress stays up like there is though.
Its correctly exposed and is in focus but has a kind of rustic layer over it. The color is correct and has adequate resolution despite the rustic film on it. The composition is pleasing to look at because of its lines and color coordination. Its not using the rule of thirds because the dress is in the center of the image but that doesn't make it unpleasant. The point of view is front and center, facing directly at the half-girl. The focal point is the dress/girl and is framed by the baseboards, walls, and floor. The little corner in her room.
The lines of the baseboards and floor make the image comfortable been if its centered. The frame crops off supposedly the rest of her room. The negative and positive space is different areas of the walls and can be found with the dress and background. The main theme that i received from this image is a childlike representation. The headless dress girl is possibly representing a system where society tells a child how to think. The ballet-styled dress is important because ballet represents something strict and beautiful. The playfulness of the room suggests a place of childhood memory. Its really a beautiful image. Compositionally and thematically, the image is both successful and i enjoy it.

This is a picture of a dress with legs. The head, shoulders and legs are cut out of this picture. The dress in in the corner of a pink room with no shoes on a hard wood floor. The dress is pink and so are the walls. There is no face and there seems to be a slight shadow on the right side of the wall. The only thing in the picture are the dress and the legs that come out of the bottom.

The image is focused on the dress and seems correctly exposed. The border is pointing your eyes to the legs and the dress and the corner does the same. The head, shoulders and arms are cropped out. Because of how she did this the artist probably used artificial light so she could control the light. Compositing takes many shots that look the same and so it is easier if you can control the light. You need to take photos of the background and the person in front of it.

This photo is very odd and seems to be surreal. The missing body parts make you ask why they aren't there and what happened. I think there is a story being told but we can not translate it from the one photo. This does not remind me of anything, but of what we are doing in class. This is an interesting photograph and you cain interpret its meaning in several different ways.

I do like this photo. It is very odd and you can not tell what exactly is going on. I would not say this photo is successful because there seems no meaning. I think if this were in a collection of pictures it would make more sense. Overall I think this is a cool photograph, but it is not successful.

This image contains a person in a ballet costume; however, the torso has been removed from the image, leaving a pair of legs extruding from the dress and no upper body being shown. The image uses pink colored walls and a pink colored dress, as well as white bevel for the bottom of the wall and a dark wood floor to contrast each other. The dark wood on the floor agrees with the pink and subsequently, forces the viewer’s attention to the subject. There isn’t much happening in the image, the subject is standing stationary. The lighting appears to be pretty standard, no studio lighting used.
The image is pretty standard. It is properly exposed, nothing is too dark or too light. The subject is in focus. The colors are correct as well. However, the major issue with the image is that it is pixelated. This could be because the photographer decided to take the image on a non-digital camera and then scanned the image. Or the artist could’ve done it for an artistic reason.
The Image is pretty pleasing to look at. The subject is placed square in the middle of the image in order to create a more meaningful relationship between the the viewer and the subject. To carry on with this effect, the artist took the picture on the same plane as the subject. Additionally, to draw our eyes to the subject, the artist uses the white bevel along the side of the wall to draw our eyes to the subject. One irksome thing about the image is that the subject isn’t lined up with the line created by the two connecting walls. Though the subject is still in the center of the image, the line doesn’t intersect the subject evenly.
The artist is definitely trying to get a message across with this image. The artist could be trying to say something about the subject. Saying how you could narrow the person down to one characteristic and forget about the person all together. The artist makes a shell out of the ballerina dress and cuts the subject out. Leaving them as a just a pair of legs. The artist could be saying how that person isn’t that important and is simply an empty shell with a ballerina dress.
Overall I’d say that I enjoy this image. It has some thought provoking properties. The artist creates a thought provoking environment in the image. Why does the person not have a torso? What could the artist possibly be trying to say with that? The artist is extremely successful in making the viewer fathom the image.

This photo is a picture of a ballerina with the top of her body gone. you can see her feet and legs. the background of the photo is in the corner of someones room. the floor of the room, is dark wood grain and the color of the room is pink. the ballerina costume matches perfectly with the wallpaper of the room.
This image is exposed perfectly. this whole image is all in focus, meaning they used a smaller aperture such as f18 or f20. there are some shadows in the background, probably from the outdoor lighting. there is no pixelation. this photo is color correct.
This image is pleasing to look at because you normally don't see body parts that are invisible. the rule of thirds isn't used because the main object is in the middle of the photo. the lines in the photo refer to the crease in the corner of the wall, which leads down to the ballerina. there is some extra space, but the pink background allows the ballerina to somewhat blend in with it. there is nothing different at the sides of the image, its a continuous room throughout the image.
i really like this photo. I'm doing this kind of photoshop for my midterm project, so i know how this works. I really like this kind of photoshop because its really versatile, you can float something, you can make multiple of something, or you can erase something. Erasing parts of a body can seem mysterious, and it can look impossible to people that have seen it for the first time. i think that this photo is really successful because the base for the photo was well chosen out, and the photo shop makes the image look impossible and truly amazing.

The image shows a girls legs wearing a dress. We know that there is actually a girl there, wearing the dress, and that she has just been edited out. The image uses lots of pink, with both the dress and the background wall mostly matching colors. The lighting is pretty good, and it looks as though it is just a well lit house. The girl in the image is just standing there, not moving. That is helpful to the artist because if it had motion blur that would make the image more difficult to edit.

The image has the correct exposure focus, with good white balance, and adequate resolution. That allows the composition to succeed. The image is pleasing to look at, though the rule of thirds is not used. The photographer took the photo from about what would be the girl’s head height, to get a full body portrait. The girl has several lines leading to her, which are the corner of the wall, and the trim on the floor. The image is balanced. The image also has lots of empty, negative, space around the person. It is at all sides of the photo, a lot like a normal portrait.

There is not much of a story in the photograph, though it is very representative of a normal young girl’s life, with the pink dress and pink painted wall. I think that if the girl had been older, possibly middle school or high school aged, the fact that she is pretty much invisible would have been much more symbolic. Pretty much everyone at that age feels they are somewhat invisible, or hidden. Based on this, I would suggest to the photographer they choose more mature subjects. Overall, though,I do like the image. In general, photoshopped images are fun.

As we know from class, the image was created by taking a picture of a girl with a dress on. Then they would have taken a photo of the background, and, using photoshop, would have covered their body, sans legs, with a mask. They may also have used the clone stamp tool to get the straps of the dress that would have been behind her arms to appear. The artist did a good job. After zooming in I was unable to see any part of a person that should have been erased.

The image displayed by Lissy Elle Laricchia is of a girl standing with a dress but she’s headless and armless. The colors used in this picture are pink, a lot of pinkie used for example theres pink tones the walls and even on the dress they’re are different kinds of pink. The lighting looks like sunlight because the sub is covering the whole room unlike studio light. The objects used in this image is a little girl, sadly we can’t see the girls face because the artist photoshopped it out. In the image the girl/dress is just standing but is armless and headless.

The image is just a tad bit overexposed nut you can barley tell and I’m pretty sure Laricchia did it on purpose to give more suspense to the photo. The image is in focus especially on the dress. The color in the image is correct and there is no pixilation. The compositin functions by making the picture appealing to look at. The rule of thirds is not being used in this image because the girl is just in the middle.

The focal point is the girl in the pink dress. Its not really framed but the wall creates a frae kind of a look. The image is balanced and symmetrical so if you split the image in half more or less it would look the same. In the picture the subject doesn’t fill the full image and theres extra space. The frame doesn’t crop anything but the rest of the room/wall.

The themes/ideas in this image is a mysterious headless girl. There is a story being told in this image but none really knows it thats why its so sureal/mysterious.
Laricchia made this image to show that you can make any plain image into something cool if you really work on it. This image s really unique, because I’ve never seen an image like this and I really liked the image! The photograph is successful because even though its just of a girl standing it attracts many eyes!

This image is of a pink dress with legs, no upper body. This image is using pinks and browns. This image has sunlight and may be studio set. There are no faces in this image just the legs of a girl wearing a tight length pink poofy dress.

the image has good exposer and is in focus. The whites in the image do look white. There is some pixelation.

This image is pleasing to look at. The colors are calming and soft. The focal point of the image is the pink dress with legs. The lines from the floor board and the meting point of two walls direct my eyes to the dress. The image is not symmetrical, it is a little off, just because the lines from the wall and floor boards are not at a centered place on the pink dress, they are a little to the right.

I can’t really find a story in this image. All i can really say about it is that its a little girl and maybe she is lost and does not want to show herself, thats why you can only see her legs.

I do think this image was successful, because I am having to think hard about the story behind this photo and what it is saying. I do like this photo a lot. I will be think about this image fora long time.

in this photo there is a ballerina dress. the dress appears like its floating but theres feet. the body of the girl has disappeared all but her feet.she has no head or arms. her feet look dirty
the dress is light pink. the shirt looks like tool. the skirt is a darker pink then the top. it has a dark pink design on it. it has thin shoulder straps.
the background is peach color. there is a white border. the dress is in the corner. the corner directs your eyes to the dress. the floor is hard wood.
to make this photo they had to take a picture of the girl with the dress. then one of just the background. they then used photo shop to combine the two pictures. then they put a mask on the head and arms and made it black. then they revealed the headless and armless ballerina.

This is an image of a ballerina with no arms or head. The image is taken in a room with hardwood floors and peach colored walls. The baseboards are also white. The uses bright colors, but allows for some dark shadows in the hardwood floors. This allows the color balance to not be to overexposed and have contrast. The ballerina is wearing a pink too too with a lighter shade of pink top that has two thin straps for arms. The ballerina has only her legs, but the straps still stay upright as if she was there.
The photographer took an image of the ballerina and then and image without her of the same background. The photographer then layered the images in photoshop and used the brush tool to erase the ballerina's body parts. The image is in focus, but a little grainy. The bright colors and may have been underexposed, the iso may have been turned up to combat this, which then resulted in a grainy image. Most of the colors are correct, but the skin of the ballerina and some parts tend to be a bit warm.
The image is quite pleasing to look at for it’s colors and sense of mystery. The image does not use the rule of thirds, but does use lines effectively. The image uses the corner of the room and the baseboards as lines to direct the viewer's eyes at the ballerina, and adds an extra dimension to the image. The image is pretty symmetrical, but not completely due to the angle of the shot as one side of the wall appears to be longer. There is also a lot of negative space that could have been used more effectively without cluttering the image.
The artist could be trying to suggest how people can be seen as just a ballerina or something, and have no identity. She could be trying to show how humans are complex and cannot be characterized around one node. She could be trying to portray this by stripping the ballerina of her identity as he removed her face. The image is quite visually stimulating, but nothing special to look at. The technique used to remove the ballerina's body parts creates a unique looking torso with the straps of the ballerina's tops floating. Overall, I enjoy this image for what it is, and strongly empathize with the message I think the artist is trying to make.

This photo is a person wearing what looks to be a ballerina suit with no head or arms. The background seems to be a coat of another type of the color pink mixing with the pink dress. The mysterious thing about this photo is that the ballerina has legs but everything waste up is gone. The lighting is fine and nothing is happening but her standing still, her feet are positioned together like shes been standing there for a while.
The photo seems to be just right, not overexposed and not underexposed. The color of the pink in the background seems to be the same as the dress so maybe the color was modified a little and there seems to be no pixilation
This function in many ways is pleasing in a weird way since the function is kinda abnormal. The rule of thirds is not being used, the focus point which is the girl is just awkwardly standing dead center of the photo.
The theme of this photo may be she lost a family member or lost something that was a big part of her life that made her from the roots. Honestly I like this photo and it's quite pleasing to look at in my eyes. I really this photograph is successful.

The image shows a girl in a dress. She has no arms or head. She looks to be standing in a room. The walls are tan, and she is standing on a hard wood floor. The lighting in the room is good. The main focus of the image is the girl in the dress. No other objects are displayed in the image.

The image looks to be properly exposed. No pixelation. A well shot image. The coloring looks to be right. The girl is the focus. She is directly close to center of the image. The lines on the wall in ways point your view directly to the girl.
The image is balanced. To me the image is pleasing to look at. Its a well taken image. There are no real negative spots. The subject does not fill the frame. The walls make up most of the other space. The hard wood floor also makes up parts of the image. At the edge of the frame is a wall. The image cuts off the wall.

I really like this image. Its an out of the ordinary image. Thats why i like this image. This image personally does not give a story. When i look at this image i don't see a story being told. It is an interesting image due to the fact that the girl does not pertain a head. It is a good image.

This photo shows a woman in a ballet dress standing in an empty room. However, the top half of her body is missing as you can clearly see the straps of the dress. The image has normal coloring with a decent amount of contrast to it .he lighting is in a mid range type meaning it is not too bright nor too dark.
The image is entirely in focus for the most part. There is a small amount of grainy-ness to it. The colors and image overall are correctly exposed. The whites and blacks and shadows of the image register and have some kind of tone in them.
The transparent woman is centered in the corner of an empty room. The rule of thirds is not being used. What are being used, however, are the natural lines from the back wall corner and the lining where the floor meets the wall. They all run and point to the woman which causes your attention to go immediately to her when you first look at the image.
This image seems to have a missing identity due to the missing face. I think this was done intentionally by the photographer. This may have been done so that the audience could insert themselves into the image in any way they may imagine.
